  • Patent number: 10939500
Abstract: An item-providing system supplies items to a user device for consumption at the user device via communication infrastructure. In one representative implementation, a user device includes a mode switching wireless communication module. The mode switching wireless communication module is adapted to receive a first paging signal via a first communication protocol when in a first mode of operation and adapted to receive a second paging signal via a second communication protocol when in a second mode of operation. The user device also includes a to-do list processing module. In response to receiving one of the first or second paging signal, the to-do list processing module sends a request to a remote network device. The request requests that one or more instructions be sent from the remote network device.

  • Patent number: 10771939
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus are provided for enabling orientation of directional antennas even when one or more of the directional antennas are moving. Position information for each directional antenna is transmitted using an omnidirectional antenna transmitting at a low bandwidth and a low power. The position information of the directional antennas is used to orient the directional antennas so that a high bandwidth, low power wireless connection can be enabled and/or maintained between the directional antennas. The position information is periodically transmitted and the orientation of the directional antennas is updated as one or more of the directional antennas move so that the wireless connection between the directional antennas is maintained.

  • Patent number: 10523247
Abstract: Wireless mesh network (WMN) architectures of network hardware devices organized in a mesh topology in which the network hardware devices cooperate in distribution of content files to client consumption devices in an environment of limited connectivity to broadband Internet infrastructure is described. A self-contained, fully connected WMN can be used for localized delivery of content files. One WMN includes a single ingress node for ingress of content files into the wireless mesh network. The WMN also includes multiple network hardware devices wirelessly connected through a network backbone formed by multiple P2P wireless connections. A first network hardware device is wirelessly connected to a client consumption device by a first node-to-client (N2C) wireless connection and a second network hardware device is wirelessly connected to the single ingress node.

  • Patent number: 9386427
Abstract: A wireless device management environment may include various systems, methods and computer-readable media for managing communications based on a determination of communication events. The communication events correspond to the anticipated unavailability for a wireless device to exchange information via a wireless communication network. Wireless devices collect wireless device information and user event information that can include performance metrics, location information, user interaction information and/or additional information. A data processing component, on the wireless device and/or on a network-based communication management system, processes the wireless device information and user event information to determine communication events.
