  • Patent number: 11922531
Abstract: A provider, such as a transportation management service, can manage transport for a number of riders between various locations. A customer can request transport between different locations. The provider may analyze the request for salient information, such as information corresponding to a start and end location, and determine whether there are errors in the salient information that would prevent the provider from providing the requested service. When the provider detects errors, the provider may request additional information from the customer in order to correct the errors.

  • Patent number: 11880899
Abstract: Various approaches allow for shared transportation reservations and related actions to be made based on a user's proximity to a shared transportation station. Data is received concerning the user's computing device, such as a vehicle, a mobile device, an internet-connected device, or a cellular network-connected device. Approaches can use a variety of data formats, including image data, location coordinates, or wirelessly-transmitted data. Based on such data and a criterion such as a threshold proximity to the station, the user's account status is determined and access to same authorized. Via the account, numerous actions may be taken, including automatically triggering a transport mode reservation or return, prompting the user to reserve or return the shared transportation, or debiting the user per a fee associated with the transportation reservation. Further, neural network techniques may be applied to train a model for generating related recommendations.

  • Patent number: 11615710
Abstract: An intelligent bicycle sharing system, or other vehicle sharing system, is able to provide helpful bicycle availability indications based on historical data and user proximity. Historical data can be collected over time as users use the bicycle sharing system. For example, the historical data may include how many bicycles are checked at out a given time and how many remain at a given location. In some embodiments, an indication may be provided to the user as the user approaches the vehicle sharing system. The indication may provide information regarding the availability of bicycles.

  • Patent number: 10913473
Abstract: A dolly includes an actuated platform and obstruction sensor as well as a camera and a depth sensor. The eye height of a user is determined according to outputs of the camera and depth sensor. The platform is then moved to an elbow height determined based on the eye height and the depth sensor is moved to a position above the platform. In response to detecting obstruction of the obstruction sensor, the platform is lowered. Upon completion of loading, the platform is lowered to a lowest position. A stand may be retracted upon lowering of the platform to its lowest position.

  • Publication number: 20200410375
Abstract: An intelligent bicycle sharing system, or other vehicle sharing system, is able to provide helpful bicycle availability predictions based on historical data, including various utilization statistics. Historical data can be collected over time as users use the bicycle sharing system. For example, the historical data may include the number of available bicycles at various locations and times, as well as contextual data associated with the locations and times. Contextual data may include data regarding the weather, local events, season, day of the week or year, news events, among other environmental factors that may or may not influence bicycle utilization. In some embodiments, a model, such as a machine learning model (e.g., neural network) may be trained using the historical data as training data such that the model can predict bicycle availability for a certain future time and location.

  • Publication number: 20200104770
Abstract: A provider, such as a transportation management service, can manage transport for a number of passengers, including passengers with special needs, between various locations. Individual routes can include at least two segments using the same or different modes of transportation. A customer can select a transportation option for the journey that causes reservations to be made for the various segments. Based on the needs of a passenger, transportations options may be limited to those using vehicles that accommodate for the passenger's needs. In some cases, other passengers may be rebooked in order to accommodate a passenger's travel needs, and in some instances, a route may be modified to accommodate a passengers travel needs.

  • Publication number: 20200104962
Abstract: A provider, such as a transportation management service, can manage transport for a number of riders between various locations. A system can determine that a customer is in a vehicle, prompt the customer regarding the customer's preferences, and modify a trip characteristic based on the response. The customer can be a rider in a vehicle shared by other passengers such as in a ride sharing environment. The customer can request transit with a transit service; such a request may include at least one time component, such as a requested time of departure or arrival. A system can prompt the customer about the customer's preferences when the system determines that the customer is otherwise unoccupied. The system can use the responses to build a profile for the customer based on the responses. The system can then modify a vehicle characteristic and/or a route based on the profile and responses.

  • Publication number: 20200104761
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure allow a universal access card, computing device, and/or application operating on a computing device to provide access and pay for multiple modes of transportation in a multi-segment journey. The universal access device may be provided by a centralized transportation management service, and may be used in conjunction with a mobile application on a computing device, to reserve a seat, plan a multi-segment journey across various modes of transportation and/or various transportation providers. When a user initiates a segment of the multi-segment journey by embarking on the first transportation provider, the universal access device provides access to the first transportation provider and may automatically provide payment to the first transportation provider. In monitoring the geo-location of the user, the universal access device can initiate access and payment to a second transportation provider when the user is ready to embark on a second segment of the multi-segment journey.
