    Abstract: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display having the same. The backlight unit includes a lower cover, an interconnection coupling hole, an inverter board, and an interconnection. The lower cover accommodates a printed circuit board, which mounts at least one light emitting diode thereon and is provided at one side thereof with a first connector. The interconnection coupling hole is formed in a bottom surface of the lower cover at a position corresponding to the first connector. The inverter board is disposed on a rear surface of the lower cover to apply a driving voltage to the at least one light emitting diode. The interconnection is provided at one end thereof with a second connector to electrically connect the printed circuit board to the inverter board.

    Abstract: A backlight unit and an LCD having the same. The backlight unit can include a light guide plate, a printed circuit board, a bottom cover and a fixing member. The printed circuit board can have at least one light emitting diode to emit light toward an incident surface formed at one side of the light guide plate. The bottom cover can receive the light guide plate and the printed circuit board therein. The fixing member can be formed with a recess section, into which the printed circuit board can be press-fitted, such that the printed circuit board is fixed to the fixing member. The assembling efficiency and reliability of the backlight unit can be improved.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an extracorporeal High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) necrosis apparatus through the control of an electronic signal, including oscillation elements for generating ultrasonic beams, an ultrasonic oscillator array having the oscillation elements fixed on a plane and oriented toward a life, delay circuits respectively connected to the oscillation elements for delaying ultrasonic oscillation by a delay time, and control means for controlling the delay time so that the ultrasonic beams are focused, and a method of employing the same. According to the present invention, waved surfaces with a variety of directions and curvatures can be formed using several oscillation elements and several delay circuits disposed on a plane, and a focus can be formed at any desired place. Accordingly, there are advantages in that installation is convenient, and a tissue, such as tumor, which is a target tissue, can be necrotized without damage to normal tissues necrosis.

    Abstract: A cathode-ray tube (CRT) assembly of a projection television includes a CRT for creating an image, a lens for magnifying the image created in the CRT and projecting the image onto a screen, and a coupler disposed between the CRT and the lens. A cooling liquid receptacle is provided within the coupler, and is filled with a cooling liquid. For that purpose, a cooling liquid pouring inlet is disposed on one side of the coupler for pouring the cooling liquid into the cooling liquid receptacle, and an oilpack is connected to the cooling liquid receptacle so that a portion of the cooling liquid is contained therein when the cooling liquid in the cooling liquid receptacle expands due to heat generated by the CRT. The oilpack comprises a sealed space, a pack holder disposed between the sealed space and the cooling liquid pouring inlet, and an oilpack coupling mechanism formed on the pack holder.

The CRT coupling apparatus includes: a CRT bracket supporting the CRT; a lens bracket supporting the lens; a coupler placed between the CRT and the lens; and a spring wire fixing the CRT bracket and the lens bracket to the coupler by applying elastic force in mutually approaching directions. One side of the spring wire is connected to a side of the CRT bracket facing away from the coupler, and the other side of the spring wire is connected to a side of the lens bracket facing away from the coupler. The apparatus also includes an earth assembly installed in the CRT bracket and contacting a backplate of the CRT to draw static electricity generated in the CRT away from the CRT. Sealing elements are provided between the coupler and the CRT and lens, respectively.
