  • Publication number: 20240217481
Abstract: A system for adjusting vehicle driver settings includes vehicle nodes configured to receive signals from a key fob or other portable wireless device, and a processing system for evaluating height information of the keyfob or other device. The processing system is configured to receive the height information and evaluate whether the wireless device is likely being carried within an article of clothing of the driver. A vehicle settings controller system accesses a settings database to obtain vehicle settings related to a particular wireless device height and implements initial vehicle settings upon a driver approaching the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11729593
Abstract: A system includes a first transceiver and a controller circuit. The first transceiver is configured to transmit first radio frequency (RF) signals. The first transceiver is further configured to output the first RF signals at a first transmission level corresponding to a first transmission range. The controller circuit is communicatively coupled with the first transceiver. The controller circuit is configured to attenuate the first RF signals to transfer the first RF signals at a second transmission level lower than the first transmission level. The second transmission level corresponds to a shorter transmission range than the first transmission range. The controller circuit detects a presence of at least one second transceiver within the shorter transmission range using the first RF signals transmitted at the second transmission level.

  • Patent number: 11157758
Abstract: A vehicle safety system includes at least one detector positioned to monitor at least a portion of an interior of a vehicle and a processor/communication system configured to receive inputs from the at least one detector and to communicate with brought-in devices located within the vehicle. The processor/communication system determines a location of the brought-in device based on visible/IR signals generated by the brought-in device and detected by the at least one detector, wherein the processor/communication system communicates restrictions/permissions to the brought-in device based on the determined location.

  • Patent number: 10938487
Abstract: An illustrative example vehicle to everything (V2X) system includes at least one V2X antenna and a V2X transceiver coupled with the V2X antenna. The V2X transceiver is configured to communicate using a first frequency band. A receiver is configured to receive communications on at least a second frequency band that is different than the first frequency band. A controller is configured to selectively cause the receiver to be configured to receive communications on the first frequency band and determine a condition of at least one of the V2X transceiver and the V2X antenna based on an indication from the receiver regarding any communication received by the receiver on the first frequency band from the V2X transceiver and the V2X antenna.
