  • Publication number: 20230016657
Abstract: Disclosed is an auto injector for administering a medicament. The auto injector comprising: a housing; a cartridge receiver configured to receive a cartridge assembly comprising a cartridge and a cartridge code feature, the cartridge containing the medicament; a code sensor configured to read the cartridge code feature; a drive module coupled to move a plunger rod; and a processing unit coupled to the code sensor and the drive module. The processing unit being configured to: receive from the code sensor a code signal indicative of the cartridge code feature; control the drive module to move the plunger rod to a first plunger rod position, the first plunger rod position being based on the code signal; receive a trigger event; control the drive module to move the plunger rod to a second plunger rod position following reception of the trigger event.

  • Patent number: 10046110
Abstract: A drug injection device comprises a main body case, a drug syringe mounting component, a piston, a drive mechanism, a controller, and means for locking the lid during operation of the drug injection device. The main body case has a lid and a base and an injection needle let-in/let-out opening. The drug syringe mounting component is provided inside the main body case, and allows a (filled) drug syringe to be mounted therein. The piston is movable with respect to the drug syringe mounting component. The drive mechanism drives the drug syringe mounting component and the piston. The controller is electrically connected to the drive mechanism. The means for locking the lid during operation of the drug injection device is activated and deactivated by movement of the drug syringe mounting component when the lid is closed.

  • Publication number: 20160001016
Abstract: A detection device (2) configured to assist injection of a media (4, 26) is intended for assisting injection of a media (4, 26) by using a hypodermic syringe (16) having a needle (10) attached to a needle hub (14). The detection device (2) includes a device (6, 8, 54, 56, 56?, 60) for identifying the characteristics of the media (4, 26) entering the needle head (14) or being present in the needle head (14). The detection device (2) may include a light source (6) configured to irradiate the needle head (14) with light; a light detection member (8) adapted to detect light (12) emitted from the light source (6), and a control unit configured to identify the characteristics of the media (4) entering the needle head (14) on the basis of light detected by the detection section (8). An auto-injection device (64) including a detection device (2) is also disclosed.
