  • Patent number: 11648751
Abstract: An electrically heatable laminated automotive glazing unit including an exterior glass sheet that is curved and tempered and a thin glass interior sheet that is also tempered, these sheets being joined by means of a thermoplastic interlayer sheet. The glazing unit is configured to receive mechanical moving and/or fastening means and a portion of the exterior sheet is not covered by the thin interior sheet. The glazing unit is fastened in the zone not covered by the thin sheet, and the glazing unit includes at least one electrically heatable zone comprising (i) a substantially transparent, electrically conductive coating layer and (ii) spaced busbars adapted to supply electrical voltage across the substantially transparent, electrically conductive coating layer. The spaced busbars are placed in the portion of the exterior sheet which is not covered by the thin interior sheet.

  • Publication number: 20220048814
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a partially textured glass article that includes (a) providing partially textured mother glass substrate that includes a first main surface and a second main surface which are opposed to each other; (b) irradiating the first main surface of the glass substrate with a laser to form a separating line on the first main surface that defines contour lines and extends from the first main surface to the second main surface dividing the glass article from the glass substrate, the glass article being a size smaller than the mother glass substrate; and (c) separating the partially textured glass article is separated from the mother glass substrate by the separating line. The method allows cutting a large partially textured mother glass substrate, with high precision, into smaller articles of partially textured glass at a requested size.

  • Publication number: 20210363054
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a coated glass article that includes (i) preparing a glass substrate having a first and second opposed main surfaces, (ii) irradiating at least the first main surface of the glass substrate with a laser to form at least one separating line defining contour lines, for dividing at least one glass article from the glass substrate, the glass article having a shape and/or size different from the glass substrate of step (i), (iii) chemically strengthening the glass substrate on which at least one separating line is formed, the separating line extending in a depth direction from the first main surface to the second main surface, and (iv) separating of the at least one glass article from the glass substrate according to the at least one separating line. In addition, the glass substrate is coated between steps (iii) and (iv).
