When requesting an image data processing to a printer other than the printer to which an image data processing has been requested firstly, the client machine checks the security level of the other printer to which the image data processing is to be requested before requesting the image data distribution processing to the other printer. When selecting another printer to which the image data distribution processing is to be requested, the security level in each printer is sufficiently considered.

Input image data is stored in local memory 10 and subjected to image processing, and then it is saved in a hard disk device 4. The image data that is read from the hard disk device 4 is stored in the local memory 10, and then printed as an image from a printing portion 3a or transmitted from a communication section 5 in data communication. When image data input is completed, image data is left stored in the local memory 10. Therefore, the image data is overwritten with random data and invalidated so that the image data is unreadable. Also, when image data processing is completed, image data is invalidated.

When the number is higher than a predetermined value, the sender is informed about the occurrence of transmission error and whether the modification of destination information has been requested is determined. When the modification has been requested, the destination information is modified; when the modification has not been requested, the destination information is deleted and then the deletion of the destination information is informed. When stored destination information including destinations of data is wrong, the use of the destination information is inhibited, which prevents users as recipients from feeling displeasure.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a transmission apparatus and method which realize a redial function and prevents the leakage of transmission information to the outside by inhibiting the display of the information including a destination to which retransmission is made, when it is determined that a predetermined condition is satisfied, whereby security can be enhanced. When the transmission of image data is not completed, a control section performs a retransmission process for transmitting again the image data to the same destination with the use of the redial function, and counts the number of times of the transmission. The control section determines whether the number of times of the transmission is greater than a predetermined value or not. When the number of times of the transmission is greater than the predetermined value, the control section reports a transmission error and deletes the information including the destination.

Thus, in a control system for an electronic device such as an image output device, operation control can be conducted by each print job, and by such operation control, the whole system including an electronic device and data preparation means such as a personal computer can be controlled more efficiently.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus carries out an image processing with respect to a sheet size and image information based on a print request to obtain a write image on a photoreceptor. On the basis of a printing ratio of the write image, the apparatus predicts occurrence of an image elongation. If the apparatus predicts that the image elongation occurs, the apparatus calculates a bending amount of a bended portion based on the difference between peripheral velocities of a photoreceptor and the idle roller, and the apparatus variably controls the peripheral velocity of an idle roller so that the bending amount is adjusted so as not to cause a slip phenomenon. It is possible to avoid the occurrence of a phenomenon of slipping of a sheet with respect to the photoreceptor without lowering image quality, and to surely secure a blank space formed at a rear edge portion of the sheet.
