  • Patent number: 7040276
Abstract: An oil supply means is provided to supply the center portion of a rotating part of an Oldham coupling with oil. The oil spreads from the center of rotation to the outside of the Oldham coupling and makes it possible to prevent the Oldham coupling from wearing. A recess is also provided to direct the oil supplied from an engine to the inward portion of the Oldham coupling. Accordingly, the oil is supplied all over an Oldham projection so that it is possible to prevent the frictional wearing of the Oldham projection disposed inside the Oldham coupling.

  • Patent number: 6848669
Abstract: An electromagnetic fluid controller can prevent the action force of magnetic attraction between both abutting faces of an armature and a stator, and eliminate the necessity of a junction of the armature and a valve needle. Upon coil energization, the armature is attracted by an electromagnetic stator force, and the armature and the stator abut through a nonmagnetic material film. The nonmagnetic material film is formed of a material containing NiP on the end face of the stator with a thickness in a range from 30 to 100 micrometers. Thus, the action force of magnetic attraction between both the abutting faces upon deenergization of the coil can be prevented without providing an air gap, and delays in the timing of the separation of the armature from the stator can be decreased.

  • Publication number: 20030057394
Abstract: A pressure-reducing valve for a common rail fuel injection system as a variable restrictor has a valve needle, a super magnetostrictive member, which is disposed so that it faces the valve needle, and the like. The super magnetostrictive member extends toward the valve needle against force urged by a spring when a magnetic field is applied by supplying electric current to a coil wound around the super magnetostrictive member. Thus a lifting distance of the valve needle from a valve seat formed on a valve body is adjusted precisely and an opening area of a fuel channel provided by the variable restrictor is determined. Therefore, fuel pressure of the common rail is adjusted suitably at required values by controlling magnitude of the current provided to the coil.

  • Patent number: 6311674
Abstract: A fuel injection apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided which is designed to control a fuel discharge from a fuel injection pump by regulating the quantity of fuel sucked into the fuel injection pump. The fuel injection pump is driven in synchronism with rotation of the engine to pressurize and supply the fuel to an accumulator chamber from which the fuel is injected into cylinders of the engine. The solenoid valve moves a valve member linearly to open and close a fluid path leading to the fuel injection pump. The controller actuates the solenoid valve in one of a first control mode when the engine speed is low and a second control mode when the engine speed is high. In the first control mode, a valve on-duration in which the solenoid valve is turned on to open the fluid path through the valve member and an area of the fluid path opened by the valve member are both controlled. In the second control mode, only the opened area of the fluid path is controlled.

  • Patent number: 6016790
Abstract: A high-pressure pump for use in a fuel injection system for diesel engines is provided which includes a plunger slidably disposed within a chamber formed in a pump housing to define a pressure chamber whose volume is changed according to sliding movement of the plunger, a check valve disposed within a fluid inlet line extending from an inlet port to the pressure chamber, and a solenoid valve disposed within the fluid inlet line upstream of the check valve. The check valve establishes fluid communication between the inlet port and the pressure chamber during a fluid suction operation wherein the fluid is sucked into the pressure chamber, while blocking the fluid communication between the inlet port and the pressure chamber during a fluid feeding operation wherein the fluid sucked into the pressure chamber is pressurized and discharged from an outlet port. The solenoid valve controls a flow rate of the fluid sucked into the pressure chamber through the check valve.
