  • Publication number: 20120198102
Abstract: This invention is directed to reducing power consumption even when there is a great amount of power consumed by a root complex in a printing apparatus that employs a PCI Express architecture. To accomplish this, a printing apparatus that includes a controller capable of switching between a root complex and an endpoint and an accelerator controller serving as a root complex performs the following processing. More specifically, in the power saving mode, the power source of the accelerator controller is turned off and the controller is set as a root complex. Power consumption in the power saving mode can be greatly reduced, and a return sequence from the power saving mode can be executed.

  • Patent number: 8163506
Abstract: Swine Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9)-expressing cells are prepared by cloning a TLR9 gene from swine intestinal Peyer's patches. Functional analysis on CpG DNAs using the above cells revealed that swine TLR9 shows a higher recognition ability for a human CpG DNA motif (CpG2006) than for a mouse-specific CpG DNA motif (CpG1826). When the mRNA expression levels in various tissues are compared by the real-time PCR method, it is found out that the mRNA is expressed in Peyer's patches and mesenteric lymph nodes, which play important roles in the intestinal tract immune system, at a level thrice as much as in spleen or more. Thus, the cells expressing an intestinal tract tissue-expressed TLR (for example, TLR9) can be used to identify samples capable of activating the intestinal tract immune system.

  • Publication number: 20120086968
Abstract: This invention is directed to enhancement of flexibility when connecting an add-in card conforming to the PCI-Express specification. More specifically, the operation mode of the system board of a printing apparatus is configured to cope with both a root-complex and end-point. When an add-in card is inserted into an extension slot, the type of add-in card is discriminated by confirming the ON state of a detection pin. When the inserted add-in card operates as a root-complex, the system board is set to operate as an end-point. When the inserted add-in card operates as an end-point, the system board is set to operate as a root-complex.

  • Publication number: 20110104721
Abstract: Lactobacillus screening methods were carried out using surface plasmon resonance spectrums and human intestinal mucin and blood group antigens as probes. A trial to set selection criteria in the above-mentioned methods of screening for lactobacilli was made to adapt the methods to mass screening, and it was discovered that lactobacilli compatible with ABO blood groups can be screened by setting 100 RU as a criterion for judging bacterial binding under certain conditions. Using 238 lactobacillus strains, the above-mentioned screening methods and tests to judge their compatibility for the use of yogurt production were carried out, to at long last specifically discover bacillus strains compatible with blood groups A, B, and O.
