  • Patent number: 6311028
Abstract: A fixing apparatus for controlling fixing temperature by controlling operations of a plurality of heaters, the apparatus includes: a timer for measuring a period of time for operations of the plurality of heaters; and a controller for controlling operations of the plurality of heaters in accordance with the measured period of time by the timer. When the timer detects that a period of time of continuous operations of only a part of heaters from among the plurality of heaters reaches a predetermined period of time or more, the controller turns on remaining heaters other than the part of heaters in addition to the part of heaters.

  • Patent number: 6177739
Abstract: In an electric power supply for supplying electric power, after a power factor has been improved, to an equipment having a power saving mode which is transferred to the power saving mode when the equipment is not operated for a predetermined period of time, the electric power supply includes: a power factor improvement section for improving the power factor by a switching operation; and a switch provided between a power source and the power factor improvement section for switching the electric power to either the power factor improvement section or the equipment. When the equipment is transferred to the power saving mode, the electric power is supplied by the switch to the equipment without passing through the power factor improvement section.

  • Patent number: 3985698
Abstract: A method for improving emulsion paint which is characterized in that 1 to 40 parts by weight as solids of aqueous acrylic resin solution is added to 100 parts by weight as resin solids of emulsion paint, said aqueous acrylic resin solution being produced from ethylenically unsaturated monomer having tertiary amine group, ethylenically unsaturated monomer having carboxyl group(s) and other ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The improved emulsion paint thereby formed has a low thixotropic property and an excellent coating property, and forms excellent coating film with good water resistance, moisture resistance and chemical resistance.

  • Patent number: 3977140
Abstract: A plurality of dampers are arranged and interposed between a spherical tank and its foundation in such a way that when the foundation shakes in case of an earthquake so that the spherical tank vibrates or swings relative to the foundation, the amplitude of the relative vibrations of the spherical tank may be controlled by the dampers.

  • Patent number: 3969901
Abstract: A floating breakwater is disclosed which comprises a plurality of floating breakwater units interconnected with each other in side by side relation and anchored to the sea bottom with anchor cables or chains. Each floating breakwater units comprises a center float, a front and rear barrier joined thereto with connecting members in suitably spaced apart relation or directly joined to the center float so as to define the separated spaces therebetween. The pitching, heaving and surging of the floating breakwater may be minimized, and the waves of a relatively wide range of wave lengths may be effectively reflected and depressed or abated so that a safe and comparatively calm sea space may be provided behind the floating breakwater.
