  • Patent number: 6315093
Abstract: A hydraulic shock absorber (10) is composed of a piston (3) that partitions the inside of a cylinder (1) into an extension side chamber (R1) and a compression side chamber (R2), a throttler (3c) for connecting the extension side chamber (R1) and the compression side chamber (R2), a piston rod (2) that extends from the cylinder (1) interlocking with the piston (3), an accumulator (11) that allows entrance and exit of a volume of hydraulic operating fluid equivalent to the volume of a portion of the piston rod (2) entered within the cylinder (1), and a spring (8) that pushes the piston (3) against the piston rod (2).

  • Patent number: 5739651
Abstract: A brushless dc motor having 3-phase stator windings and a permanent-magnet rotor is driven on a dc voltage through a 3-phase electronic switching circuit. Back emf voltages across the stator windings are individually phase-delayed and the phase-delayed voltages are individually compared in comparators with a common sawtooth-wave comparator reference voltage having a frequency proportional to a current rotor speed and an amplitude whose center voltage is one-half of the motor driving dc voltage. A drive control unit, a microcomputer, transmits to the switching circuit switching control signals in sequential driving steps according to 3-phase output signals of the comparators so that the switching circuit performs commutation of the motor drive voltage in a first motor driving mode. The time constant of the phase-delay circuits is increased when the rotational speed of the rotor is below a predetermined speed or the motor driving current is above a predetermined level.

  • Patent number: 5181882
Abstract: A coin return control system for vending machines is disclosed which includes a predetermined coin denomination detecting portion for detecting the coin denomination predetermined by a coin denomination predetermination switch every time change may have to be paid out by the vending machine. A memory memorizes the coin denomination detected by the coin denomination detecting portion immediately after operating an inventory switch which is a switch other than the coin denomination predetermination switch. A variation detecting portion detects the variation of the coin denomination predetermined by the coin denomination predetermination switch based on the coin denomination detected by the predetermined coin denomination detecting portion and the coin denomination memorized by the memory.

  • Patent number: 5024313
Abstract: A coin return control system for vending machines including an apparatus for comparing the counted number of deposited smaller denomination coins with the number of the smaller denomination coins corresponding to a denomination of a larger denomination coin. The system returns the larger denomination coin or coins instead of the deposited smaller denomination coins only when the smaller denomination coin is in its change running-out state. Since the change running-out state of the smaller denomination coins which are useful for use of change is adequately canceled, this increases the chance of a vending machine sale greatly. Moreover, since the substitution of the larger denomination coin for the smaller denomination coins is carried out only when the smaller denomination coin is in its change running-out state, use of the vending machine as a coin exchange machine can be adequately prevented.

  • Patent number: 5004776
Abstract: A thermally stabilized chlorine-containing resin composition comprising a chlorine-containing resin and a stabilizer consisting essentially of (a) an overbased alkaline earth metal carboxylate or phenolate complex, (b) zeolite, (c) calcium hydroxide and (d) a complex of at least one metal perchlorate selected from the group consisting of sodium, magnesium, calcium and barium perchlorates with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohols and their derivatives. The stabilizer consisting essentially of the above four components (a) to (d) exhibits excellent effects in the prevention of the discoloration and the deterioration in physical properties of the chlorine-containing resin, both accompanying the thermal degradation caused when the resin is subjected to thermoforming, particularly powder molding or exposed to a high temperature atmosphere for a long period of time.

  • Patent number: 3940334
Abstract: A method for separating oil from water, wherein, in order to simplify the treatment processes, to improve separation efficiency, and to make possible the recycling of added solvents, in the course of separation treatment of oil from waste water containing fats and oils, paraffinic hydrocarbons of low specific gravities, as extractive solvents for fats and oils, and inorganic or organic coagulants are added to the waste water; the mixture is then stirred and allowed to stand; the oil-containing scum separating as an upper layer is then removed so as to separate the oil from water, and furthermore, the solvent previously added is recovered from the oil-containing scum so removed by means of distillation.
