    Abstract: A switching power supply circuit of the present invention includes: a transformer including a main winding and an auxiliary winding, which are magnetically coupled together on a primary winding side; a switching element for intermittently supplying a direct-current voltage to the main winding; and a controller for turning ON/OFF the switching element using a voltage induced across the auxiliary winding by the intermittent supply of the direct-current voltage. The switching power supply circuit includes a startup circuit, the startup circuit including: a startup switch connected to the main winding; and a driving pulse generator for outputting a driving pulse to the startup switch for turning ON the startup switch.

    Abstract: In a head protecting air bag device according to the present invention, a clip for attaching an attaching portion of an air bag to a fixing part on the side of a vehicle body includes a clip body and a locking part. The clip body has a shaft having a pair of securing legs protruded. The pair of securing legs are inserted in the fixing slot of the fixing part from an in-vehicle side via the attaching slot of the attaching portion and secured to the peripheral edge on an out-vehicle side of the fixing slot. The shaft is composed of a shell member of a metallic plate on the outer periphery and a core member of synthetic resin on the inner periphery. The core member is arranged on the opposite sides of a pair of securing lugs of the shell member. The core member has an inserting space in which a spacer of the locking part is inserted between the pair of securing lugs. The spacer limits the mutual approaching of the pair of securing legs.

A through hole in the attaching piece portion is set to such a size that a location constituting a circumferential edge is disposed at a position deflected from an area between a head portion of the bolt and the inner panel when a fastening stem portion of the bolt is fastened to the inner panel. The bolt is fastened to the inner panel in such a state that only the attaching bracket is interposed between the inner panel and the head portion.

    Abstract: A detection unit to optically detect a discharge condition of a droplet is disclosed. The detection unit includes a light emitting element and a light receiving element disposed on opposite sides of an area through which a droplet discharged from a droplet-discharger passes. A diaphragm plate having an aperture and another diaphragm plate having at least two apertures arranged at a pitch in a discharge direction are respectively disposed near front surfaces of the two elements. When light emitted from the light emitting element passes through the apertures, two light beams are received by the light receiving element. When the droplet is discharged and passes in front of the apertures, the two light beams are blocked sequentially by the ink droplet, which causes the quantity of light received by the light receiving element to change, thereby inducing a change in an output from the light receiving element. Based on the change in the output, a discharge-condition of the droplet is determined.

The end face opening emits inflation gas in an axial direction of the inflator when the inflator is connected with the gas inlet port. Between each of the circumferential openings is a supporting plane for supporting an inner surface of the gas inlet port. The discharge side end includes a guide portion for redirecting inflation gas flowing from inside to directions perpendicular to the axis of the inflator when the gas inlet port is not connected with the inflator, such that inflation gas is discharged from the circumferential openings of the gas discharge ports.
