The crossing points which are in contact with each other are welded together by a welding machine.     Abstract: A device for holding catalyst in a radial flow reactor includes a plurality of catalyst containers each of which is a segment of a cylinder divided in the axial plane thereof. Each catalyst container has a cross section of a size which enables the container to be carried in and out of the radial fow reactor through an opening formed in an upper or lower portion of the radial flow reactor, and includes a screen provided on a liquid inlet side and a screen provided on a liquid outlet side. The catalyst containers are assembled together to form a cylindrical catalyst bed in the radial flow reactor. The catalyst containers attains a uniform thickness of a catalyst bed in a radial direction between its inlet side and outlet side over the entire height of the cylindrical catalyst bed. One or more catalyst containers requiring checking or repair only can be taken out of the reactor.

    Abstract: A filtering device includes a cylindrical screen 2 having a rotatable backwash tube 3 provided coaxially therein. The backwash tube includes a first end portion including an inlet 3c for introducing filtered liquid and a second end portion including an opening 3d for discharging filtered liquid and introducing backwash water. A plurality of backwash water injection holes 13d are formed along the backwash tube in an axial direction thereof at a predetermined interval. A check valve 14 is disposed within the backwash tube adjacent the inlet 3c such that in a filtration operation filtered liquid is allowed to flow from the inlet 3c into the backwash tube 3 and then into the liquid transfer tube 9. In a backwash operation, the check valve prohibits backwash water from flowing to the inlet from the backwash tube.

A filtered liquid receiving container is provided to collect filtered liquid and the outlet of the suction tube is disposed in the filtered liquid receiving container in such a manner that filtered liquid is jetted out of the outlet of the suction tube and is struck against a side wall of the filtered liquid receiving container or against surface of liquid stored in the container.
