  • Publication number: 20020005071
Abstract: An ultrasound imaging method forms an image of an object using signals reflected from the object after transmitting an ultrasound pulse to the object. In the method, at a first step, a predetermined first spread spectrum signal is converted to the ultrasound signal at one or more transducers and the ultrasound signal is transmitted to the object. At a second step, pulse compression is performed on a reflected signal of the ultrasound signal reflected from the object to form a pulse compressed signal. And the pulse compressed signal is processed to produce a receive-focused signal and the image of the object from the receive-focused signal is generated.

  • Patent number: 6292434
Abstract: A spherical wave formation method by superposition of a plurality of limited plane waves is provided, in which a plurality of sufficiently small elements in a linear transducer transmits a spherical wave according to a predetermined delay pattern to thereby form a plurality of limited plane waves, and then the plurality of the limited plane waves are superposed, to thereby form a large-sized spherical wave.

  • Publication number: 20010020129
Abstract: All RF data received by transducers in response to an ultrasonic signal that was transmit-focused on a point along a predetermined scan lines are stored to compute display data for those points of an object that are not necessarily correspond to the pixels of the screen of a display device. For the determination of display data for each pixel point, reflected ultrasonic signals from multiple points around the point of interest are found and used to detect the peak of a waveform constituted by the reflected ultrasonic signals. With this scheme, the distortion due to conventional interpolation used for a limited number of scan lines can be greatly reduced.

  • Patent number: 5893832
Abstract: A transducer element alignment structure for use with a two-dimensional transducer to form an ultrasonic three-dimensional image performs a three-dimensional scanning by using the smallest number of elements, wherein a number of transducer elements are aligned on a plurality of concentric circular grids. The first element is aligned at a location on each grid and the other elements are aligned at a respective location so that the circumferential distance between the elements has the same arc length, to thereby construct a simple system and effectively form ultrasonic three-dimensional images.

  • Patent number: 5876341
Abstract: A BcD mode ultrasound imaging system including a Doppler processor which is configured to receive a Doppler signal having components that are corrupted by residue from color mode interleaving. The Doppler processor is configured to analyze the residue effect and compensate for the residue by filtering the received Doppler signal.

  • Patent number: 5706817
Abstract: An ultrasonic color Doppler imaging system, and particularly a filtering method for removing a clutter signal from an ultrasonic image is provided. A modified infinite impulse response (IIR) filter to which a moving target indicator (MTI) principle is applied, can sufficiently suppress an undesired transient phenomenon shown in a conventional general IIR filter, and realize a steep characteristic curve which is the same as that of the conventional IIR filter, using a small order. Thus, a frame rate of the image system can be improved and a real-time processing is possible. However, first three signals output from such a filter do not represent a characteristic of a filter accurately. Thus, first three kinds of data which cause an inaccuracy to a filter characteristic are removed from a filter processing, to render an accuracy in realization of a modified IIR filter.
