Provided is also a biaxially stretched polyester film which can be used as a substrate film in a release film for producing a resin sheet. A biaxially stretched polyester film has a haze of 2% or more and 15% or less and a surface roughness SRa of at least one surface of 5 nm or more and 40 nm or less.
