  • Patent number: 5311375
Abstract: A recording head arrangement is disclosed which may be employed in a video signal recording and/or reproducing device in which a video tape is helically wound on a drum carrying recording heads for recording and/or reproducing a video signal. The video signal is divided for representing upper and lower half images on a screen. The recording head arrangement includes first and second heads mounted on the drum adjacent each other. The first and second heads have the same azimuth angle which is inclined in a first direction with respect to a direction perpendicular to the head advancing direction. Third and fourth heads are mounted on the drum 180 degrees spaced from the first and second heads, respectively. The third and fourth heads have the same azimuth angle which is inclined in a second direction, opposite to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 5293280
Abstract: Disclosed are a magnetic recording and reproduction apparatus for a data processing unit, which includes a plurality of magnetic heads formed integrally by a thin-film forming technology, and a magnetic tape. A magnetic tape has a plurality of recording tracks corresponding to a plurality of independent data. The recording tracks are arranged in parallel to a moving direction of the magnetic tape and share the same starting position. A plurality of magnetic heads are arranged in parallel to a width direction of the magnetic tape to correspond to the recording tracks in a one-to-one correspondence, and are fixed at the starting position of the recording tracks. The magnetic tape is moved in a direction in which the starting position is away from the magnetic heads for data recording onto the magnetic tape and for data reproduction from the magnetic tape.

  • Patent number: 4910517
Abstract: A digital modulation signal is sampled by an A/D converter in a predetermined cycle. A phase interval P between a zero level crossing and the current sampling point using sampling data S.sub.i+1 at the current sampling point and sampling data S.sub.i at a sampling point which is located one point before the current sampling point. A phase P.sub.i+1 of the current sampling point is found using the phase interval P, a phase P.sub.i of the sampling point which is located one point before the current sampling point, a phase P.sub.i -1 of a sampling point which is located two points before the current sampling point and a phase P.sub.i-2 of a sampling point which is located three points before the current sampling point. A clock signal is detected using the phases P.sub.i+1 and P.sub.i. Digital data is detected using the phase interval P, the phase P.sub.i+1 and the sampling data S.sub.i at the sampling point which is located one point before the current sampling point.

  • Patent number: 4812987
Abstract: A wave shaping circuit includes a digital sampling circuit for sampling an input signal and producing a digital signal. The sampled signal is detected by a sign detector for detecting whether it is positive or negative. A unit difference generator is provided for generating a unit difference which is equal to a difference increased, during one sampling cycle, in a positive or negative direction as detected by the sign detector. A register is provided for storing a summed difference obtained in the previous sampling cycle. The summed difference is multiplied by a predetermined coefficient which is between 0 and 1 so that the product changes exponentially. A first adder is provided for adding the summed difference multiplied by the coefficient with the unit difference. The added result is stored in the register. A second adder is provided for adding the sampled input signal with the summed signal stored in the register, and producing a corrected signal.

  • Patent number: 4700241
Abstract: An apparatus for recording and reproducing digital signals includes a detector for detecting and producing a phase data signal of a sampled point of the digital signal, a first comparator for comparing a first phase data signal at one sampling point and a second phase data signal at one previous sampling point, a second comparator for comparing a predetermined value with a phase difference between the second phase data and newly detected phase data, a condition detecting means, utilizing the results of the first and second comparators, for detecting whether two adjacent sampling points are within a reference phase period, and sampling pulse generating means for generating one sampling pulse when the two sampling points are separated by a distance equal to the reference phase period, two sampling pulses when the distance is greater than the reference phase period; and no sampling pulse when the distance is less than the reference phase period.
