  • Publication number: 20070243353
Abstract: To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive covering material for application to the skin which is less apt to peel off from a part where the covering material has been applied, and which is less apt to crease and is suitable for use especially in the prevention and/or treatment of bedsore. The pressure-sensitive adhesive covering material for application to the skin includes a layered substrate obtained by superposing a knitted fabric on one side of a film and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on the film on its side opposite to the knitted fabric, the film has an elongation of 150-1,500% and the knitted fabric is formed from filaments having an elongation of 1-200%.

  • Patent number: 6146654
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a blending medical composition with a sustained medicament releasability, which can reduce the amount of medicament required to be contained in the composition, and can control the amount of medicament to be released according to a degree of moisture present at a moist application site. The present composition includes a medicament-containing hydrophilic composition including a water-soluble or water-dispersible hydrophilic composition and a medicament, dispersed and blended into a binding composition capable of retaining the medicament-containing hydrophilic composition.

  • Patent number: 5827528
Abstract: A medical adhesive composition having as essential components a pressure sensitive adhesive component and a water absorbing component, the pressure sensitive adhesive component consisting of an elastomer comprised of a thermoplastic elastomer and an elastomer having a low compatibility with the thermoplastic elastomer, and a softener containing at least a liquid rubber and a tackifier. The medical adhesive composition has an excellent initial tack, it is subject to little or no cold flow or cracking in storage and in use, has improved flexibility and water absorbing characteristics and swells very little and retains its shape after absorption of water.
