    Abstract: In a cooling air flow passage for a vehicular alternator, a cooling air blows from a top toward a bottom of a cooling air room formed between a primary and secondary rear covers through a suction duct of an approximate character ā€œLā€ shape. The cooling air is then supplied in diffusion into an electrical component room adjacently formed in front of the cooling air room. A sectional area of an inlet opening of the secondary rear cover is smaller than that of a suction opening of the suction duct in order to accelerate the flowing speed of the cooling air at the inlet opening, and to supply the accelerated cooling air into the cooling air room adjacent to the electrical component room in the axial direction. This can reduce a necessary width of the cooling air room in the axial direction of the alternator and efficiently cool each electrical component.

The cover member is connected to the rear end wall of the rear frame, and a vibration-absorbing member made of a rubber material is disposed between the rear end wall and the cover member. The vibration-absorbing member has a cylindrical portion disposed between a center opening of the rear end wall and an extending portion of the cover member and a rear disc portion disposed between the rear end wall and a front surface of the cover member. The cylindrical portion is compressed in the radial direction while the rear disc portion is compressed in the axial direction, thereby alleviating vibration of the brush device in both the radial and the axial directions.

    Abstract: An AC generator for a vehicle includes a rotor, a stator having a three-phase stator winding, a three-phase full-wave rectifier unit, an insulation cover, and a frame for rotatably supporting the rotor. The rectifier unit includes a cooling fin structure having at least three positive diodes and three negative diodes fixed thereto and a terminal member having a wiring member connecting the positive and negative diodes to form the three-phase full-wave rectifier unit and three first partition members. The wiring member has first connecting portions connected to the positive and negative diodes and second connecting portions connected to three output leads of the stator winding. Each of the first partition members extend toward the insulation cover between one of the first connecting portions and the cooling fin structure.
