    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a reactor 1 including a combined product 10 made up of a coil member 2 and a magnetic core 3, and a case 4 storing the combined product 10. The case 4 is formed by a combination of a side wall portion 41 surrounding the combined product 10 and a bottom plate portion 40 being a member separate from the side wall portion 41. Between the bottom plate portion 40 of the case 4 and the coil member 2 (coils 2a and 2b), an insulating sheet 42 is interposed. In order to fabricate the reactor 1, the insulating sheet 42 is disposed on the bottom plate portion 40, and the combined product 10 is disposed on the insulating sheet 42. Then, the side wall portion 41 is disposed from above the combined product 10, and the side wall portion 41 and the bottom plate portion 40 are engaged with each other.

The installation face consists of aluminum, the side wall consists of an insulating resin, and the heat dissipation layer consists of an adhesive with high thermal conductivity and excellent insulation. The installation face is separate from the side wall, making it easy to form the heat dissipation layer, and having excellent heat dissipation. The side wall consists of an insulating resin, thus reducing the gap between it and the coil.

The circuit-constituting unit includes a plurality of bus bars for constituting a power circuit; a semiconductor switching device provided in the power circuit; and a control circuit board. The bus bars are bonded to a surface of the control circuit board such that the bus bars are arranged to be generally coplanar with each other. The semiconductor switching device is mounted on both of the corresponding bus bars and the control circuit board. An opening may be formed through the control circuit board. In this case, one of terminals of the semiconductor switching device may be connected to a surface of the control circuit board facing away from the surface to which the bus bars are bonded. The other terminals may be connected respectively to the bus bar through the opening.

An insulating case made of an insulating material for covering the power circuit section is opened in the projection direction of the fuse connection terminals to enable the fuse terminal to be placed in the tip placement part of the fuse connection terminal from the outside of the insulating case. The insulating case has a short-circuit prevention section intervening between the fuse connection terminals for preventing a short circuit between the fuse connection terminals.
