Abstract: A developing device includes a developer container, a developing roller, and a doctor member. The developer container contains a developer including a toner and a developer. The developing roller includes a developing sleeve bearing the developer, a magnet roller in the developing sleeve. The doctor member includes a regulating portion regulating an amount of the developer home on the developing sleeve to be a predetermined amount. The regulating portion is disposed with a first distance from the developing sleeve. The developing sleeve is disposed with a second distance from an image hearer, and when the developing sleeve bearing the predetermined amount of developer passes a vicinity of the image bearer, a value obtained by dividing the predetermined amount by the second distance is less than a threshold of occurrence of adherence of the developer to the developing sleeve.
Abstract: Disclosed is a fuel injection valve in which a movable core and a fixed core are enclosed in a cylindrical body. The cylindrical body has an annular groove formed therein, on an outer circumferential side of a region in which the movable core and the fixed core are opposed to each other, to define a thin portion of small wall thickness. In a cross section taken along a center axis of the fuel injection valve, the thin portion has curved line sections on both end sides thereof in a direction along the center axis such that the curved line sections respectively connect a bottom of the annular groove to side edges of the annular groove by curved lines. The curved line sections are provided over a range of larger dimension, from the respective side edges in the direction along the center axis, than a depth dimension of the annular groove.

A control unit in a relay device functions as a switching control unit, if the current value becomes lower than a current threshold value in a first conduction path and a second conduction path, the control device switches a relay unit to an OFF state. Abstract: An optical fiber manufacturing method includes a process of passing a glass fiber through a fiber path before applying a resin. The glass fiber is drawn from a glass preform, the fiber path is formed through a cooling tube, and the cooling tube is housed in a casing and is cooled by a coolant. The process includes supplying a dry gas into a dry space formed between the casing and the cooling tube. The dry gas has a first dew point lower than the temperature of the cooling tube. The process includes measuring, by a dew point meter, a second dew point at one or both of an inlet and an outlet of the fiber path. The process includes controlling the temperature of the coolant in the cooling tube such that the temperature of the cooling tube is higher than the second dew point measured by the dew point meter.
Abstract: An optical fiber manufacturing method includes a first process of passing a glass fiber through a fiber path. The fiber path is formed through a cooling tube that is housed in a first casing. The method also includes a second process of leading the glass fiber into a second casing before leading into the first casing. The first process includes supplying a first dry gas, having a dew point lower than the temperature of the cooling tube, into a first dry space formed between the first casing and the cooling tube. The second process includes supplying a second dry gas into a second dry space formed inside the second casing so as to cause air pressure in the second dry space to be higher than air pressure in an external space. The dew point of the second dry gas is lower than the dew point in the external space.

Abstract: A noise determination method executed by a computer, the noise determination method includes: acquiring time-series data; identifying a shape of a waveform of the time-series data using a persistent diagram; extracting a cluster whose lifetime from birth to death is equal to or greater than a threshold value in the persistent diagram; determining, from statistical information regarding time intervals related to pieces of data included in the cluster, whether or not peaks appear at regular intervals in the waveform of the time-series data; and controlling, based on a result of the determining, notification of an alert indicating that the time-series data includes noise.

Abstract: There is provided a manufacturing method of a hollow composite magnetic member having weakened magnetism in a portion of a ferromagnetic hollow member, the method includes: a step of forming a weak-magnetic area having weakened magnetism by melting and mixing a Ni-containing material and the hollow member by continuously supplying the Ni-containing material to a portion of the hollow member and heating the irradiation area having a line segment shape with the laser beam. Accordingly, since it is possible to prevent drop of a local portion of a hollow ferromagnetic pipe from being easily generated by a weak-magnetization treatment, to greatly reduce deformation generated by laser irradiation, and it becomes unnecessary to adjust the shielding gas pressure inside the pipe, the weak-magnetization treatment can be performed with higher efficiency and higher quality.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an optical fiber is disclosed. The method for manufacturing an optical fiber includes: drawing an optical fiber by heating an optical fiber preform inside a drawing furnace into which a first gas is introduced; and annealing the optical fiber by causing the optical fiber to pass through an annealing furnace disposed downstream of the drawing furnace and adjusted to a temperature lower than a temperature at which the optical fiber preform is heated. In the annealing, a second gas having a lower heat conductivity than the first gas is introduced into the annealing furnace through one or more gas introduction ports such that a total flow rate becomes 3 slm or higher, and a flow rate of the second gas per gas introduction port is adjusted to 30 slm or lower.
Abstract: An apparatus obtains time series data to which a label indicating a category of classification is attached, where the time series data contains variations of target values during a period to which the label is attached. The apparatus divides the time series data into a plurality of sections, and generates an attractor for each of the plurality of sections where the attractor indicates a set of numerical values toward which the variations of the target values tends to evolve. The apparatus calculates a Betti sequence in accordance with the generated attractor for each of the plurality of sections, and obtains a feature for the Betti sequences of the plurality of sections by clustering the Betti sequences or by calculating a statistical quantity of the Betti sequences. The apparatus performs machine learning by using the obtained feature as an input.
