  • Publication number: 20060112587
Abstract: A reduced pressure drying apparatus includes a chamber that closes in an airtight manner during a reduced pressure drying operation, a stage on which a substrate is mounted; and an exhaust unit having an exhaust tube that opens at exhaust openings within the chamber. The stage is disposed within the chamber during the reduced pressure drying operation. The exhaust unit discharges atmosphere from the chamber via the exhaust openings during the reduced pressure drying operation to reduce the pressure within the chamber. The exhaust openings are formed such that a position of the exhaust openings is substantially the same as or no higher than a surface position of the substrate. The reduced pressure drying apparatus allows a film having a more uniform thickness to be formed on the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20050270328
Abstract: Aspects of the invention provide a drawing device and method that can improve the uniformity in film thickness after drying. The method can include a step of discharging orientation film ink from an ink jet head to a drawing region with a smaller area than a desired drawing region on a glass substrate a step of discharging the orientation film ink from the ink jet head to a peripheral drawing region which is a periphery of the drawing region, and a step of discharging the orientation film ink from the ink jet head to a peripheral drawing region which is a periphery of the peripheral drawing region are included. Accordingly, a protrusion of the orientation film ink after drying in the peripheral drawing region which is a rim part can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040246282
Abstract: A drawing device is provided that applies drawing liquid containing a drawing material dissolved or dispersed in a solvent onto a substrate. The drawing device includes a liquid drop emitter having a liquid drop ejection head that ejects the drawing liquid onto the surface of the substrate, a substrate stage having the substrate mounted thereon, moving means for relatively moving the liquid drop ejection head or the substrate stage, and control means for controlling at least one of the liquid drop ejection head and the substrate stage. A wall is disposed on at least one of the liquid drop ejection head and the substrate stage to prevent the solvent from flowing out.

  • Publication number: 20040113960
Abstract: A film forming apparatus and a method of driving this apparratus control vibrations imparted to a liquid by a discharge waveform (a first signal) that causes liquid drops to be discharged and by a micro vibration waveform (a second signal) that does not cause liquid drops to be discharged and that also imparts a shear rate to the liquid that lowers the viscosity of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 6074040
Abstract: In an ink jet printer head which ejects ink drops from a nozzle (11) formed on the surface of the nozzle plate (1), wherein a metal layer (13) and a sulfur compound layer (14) are formed on the surface of the nozzle. Gold atoms of the metal layer (13) and sulfur atoms of the sulfur compound layer (14) are bonded covalently and form a water repellant thin film.Since ink does not remain on the nozzle surface, problems such as ink drops being pulled by residue ink and the ejection direction of ink drops being bent are eliminated.
