Abstract: An on-vehicle motor-driven compressor includes a compression unit, an electric motor, and an inverter device. The inverter device includes an inverter circuit and a noise reducer. The noise reducer includes a common-mode choke coil and a smoothing capacitor. The common-mode choke coil includes a loop-shaped core, a first winding wound around the core, a second winding wound around the core, the second winding being spaced apart from and opposed to the first winding, and a loop-shaped conductor that covers the core while extending over the first winding and the second winding. The core includes an exposed portion that is not covered with the conductor. Parts of the conductor that are opposed to each other between the first winding and the second winding are spaced apart from each other.
Abstract: A packet forwarding apparatus includes a transmitter configured to transmit a multicast packet requesting a response to a plurality of relay apparatuses each configured to relay a packet in a network, a memory configured to store apparatus information relating to on a relay processing status of the packet in each of the plurality of relay apparatuses, and a processor configured to update the apparatus information according to whether the response is received from each of the plurality of relay apparatuses, and switch a forwarding destination of the packet from a relay apparatus with no response to a relay apparatus with the response among the plurality of relay apparatuses according to updated data in the apparatus information.

Abstract: A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharge head to discharge liquid and control circuitry to generate a drive waveform including drive pulses applied to the head. The drive waveform includes a non-discharge pulse not to discharge the liquid and a discharge pulse to discharge the liquid. The non-discharge pulse and the discharge pulse are serial in time in the drive waveform. Td is in a range of Tc?0.2×Tc to Tc+0.45×Tc. Vp1 is in a range of ?10% to +10% of Vpp1. Td represents a time interval between the non-discharge pulse and the discharge pulse. Tc represents a natural vibration period of a pressure chamber of the head. Vp1 represents a peak value of the non-discharge pulse. Vpp1 represents a peak value of the non-discharge pulse at which a droplet speed of liquid discharged by the discharge pulse takes a local minimum value.

Abstract: There is provided a silver powder which has a small average particle diameter and a small thermal shrinkage percentage, and a method for producing the same. While a molten metal of silver heated to a temperature (1292 to 1692° C.), which is higher than the melting point (962° C.) of silver by 330 to 730° C., is allowed to drop, a high-pressure water is sprayed onto the molten metal of silver (preferably at a water pressure of 90 to 160 MPa) to rapidly cool and solidify the molten metal of silver to powderize silver to produce a silver powder which has an average particle diameter of 1 to 6 ?m and a shrinkage percentage of not greater than 8% (preferably not greater than 7%) at 500° C., the product of the average particle diameter by the shrinkage percentage at 500° C. being 1 to 11 ?m·% (preferably 1.5 to 10.5 ?m·%).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preventing transmission of influenza, wherein said method comprises administering an effective amount of a compound to a patient having an influenza virus infection, herein referred to as “index patient”, wherein the compound has one of the formulae (I) and (II), or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt. The compound to be used in the present invention reduces infectivity of the influenza virus of the index patient, and therefore, reduces the risk of the index patient to trigger an influenza epidemic or an influenza pandemic as compared to a control patient.
