  • Patent number: 5735185
Abstract: A rotary-type sheet cutter for cutting a continuous sheet material comprising a stationary blade having an end edge extending along the widthwise direction of the sheet material; and a rotary blade having an end edge which rotates about a rotary axis extending along the widthwise direction of the sheet material during rotation of the rotary blade, the end edge of the rotary blade intersection-contacting with that of the stationary blade under pressure so as to cut the sheet material along the widthwise direction when the rotary blade rotates. The rotary blade is formed by bending a flat plate along a bend line which is brought into a state of extending along the widthwise direction of the sheet material, and the end edge and the bend line are arranged to form an angle opening toward a cutting starting side.

  • Patent number: 5105703
Abstract: A sheet cutter comprises a fixed cutting member; a movable cutting member whose cutting edge slopes so that the movable cutting member has a V-shaped extension and/or notch; and a control member for controlling the stroke of the movable cutting member, whereby the movable cutting member is moved to overlap with the fixed cutting member to shear a sheet at a predetermined portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 5088370
Abstract: A sheet material cutting apparatus in which a pair of blades comprising a movable blade and a fixed blade are arranged, and the movable blade reciprocates to cut sheets. A drive device is mounted on the cutting apparatus, which drive device includes a drive arm to actuate the movable blade and a connecting lever having a split groove for connecting the lever to the drive arm. The movable blade is driven with the aid of the connecting lever and the drive arm of the drive device. The drive of the movable blade is controlled by elasticity of the split groove in the connecting lever. When load exceeding a predetermined amount occurs at the movable blade, the split groove in the connecting lever permits the drive arm to come off.

  • Patent number: 4319507
Abstract: A shearing device comprising a tool body or holder and a shearing edge member having at least one end with a rectangular cross section. A groove or cut-away portion having a rectangular cross section, in which the shearing edge member is fitted, is defined in the tool body. The shearing edge member is bonded or soldered to the walls of the groove at a relatively low temperature, being fitted therein.

  • Patent number: 4114491
Abstract: A paper web cutting device of a full rotation type comprises, in combination: a rotary cutter including a shank with rotary shafts at both ends, a cutting blade affixed to the shank, with its edge inclined circumferentially relative to the common axis of the shafts, a guide ring located at the cutting starting end of the blade and having a radius of rotation equal to that of the edge, and a second guide member located at the cutting terminating end of the blade and having a volute configuration, with its radius of rotation gradually decreased from the initial value equal to the radius of rotation of the edge; and a stationary cutter having a straight edge and supported in place by pivot pins at both ends, in such a manner that, at the cutting terminating end, the edge is graded to interfere slightly with the radius of rotation of the rotary cutter edge, the edge being forced by a spring to bear against the rotary cutter.

  • Patent number: 4060892
Abstract: A cutter, simple in construction but having good cutting quality and durability, for cutting paper in a semicylindrically curled state. With radii equal to or approximate to the radius of curvature of the paper to be cut, a stationary blade having a semicircular receding contour and a movable blade having an at least semicircular extending contour are spring-biased into pressure contact edgewise. The distance between the centers of the blades is greater than the difference between the blade radii so that the movable blade can always move in contact at only one point with the stationary blade during cutting operation.
