  • Publication number: 20090129031
Abstract: A flat pressure sensor of the invention is prepared by processing a thin film of a polymer material to have plurality of substantially square openings 24. A planar member 22 of the flat pressure sensor thus obtained has a net-like structure including multiple element formation areas 26 and multiple bridging areas 28 that respectively bridge the multiple element formation areas 26. Pressure sensor elements 30 are provided in the multiple element formation areas 26 of the planar member 22. A wiring to the pressure sensor elements 30 is formed on the multiple bridging areas 28. The net-like structure enables the flat pressure sensor to be stretched in diagonal directions without arrangement of the bridging areas 28 and to be deformed to a curved surface. The flat pressure sensor of the invention is thus attached to a curved surface, for example, a spherical surface.

  • Patent number: 7336810
Abstract: A skin beauty evaluation method for imaging an object such as human face to obtain digital image data, extracting data on a mirror reflection light component of each pixel from the digital image data and evaluating the skin sheen and skin beauty by using this. A simulation image obtaining method is also disclosed. By using these methods, it is possible to objectively evaluate the skin sheen and beauty which have been conventionally evaluated only subjectively. Thus, the methods are useful for development of a new skin cosmetic material. Moreover, by using a polarized light source, a digital camera to which polarization filter can be attached and a computer having a predetermined calculation or analysis equation, it is possible to easily evaluate the customer skin sheen and beauty and perform simulation of the face state of a test subject after improvement of the skin state or makeup.

  • Patent number: 6770549
Abstract: The specification describes a pattern transfer technique for forming patterns of thin films of high resolution over large areas. It involves forming a pattern layer on a transfer substrate, patterning the pattern layer while on the transfer substrate, then contacting the transfer substrate with the receiving substrate. The surface of the receiving substrate is treated to activate the surface thereby improving adhesion of the transfer pattern to the receiving substrate. The activation treatment involves forming a layer of metal particles on the surface of the receiving substrate. The pattern layer is preferably of the same metal, or a similar metal or alloy, and is transferred from the transfer substrate to the receiving substrate by metallurgical bonding. The method of the invention is particularly useful for printing metal conductor patterns (metalization), and device features, on flexible polymer substrates in, for example, thin film transistor (TFT) technology.

  • Patent number: 6596569
Abstract: The specification describes a lamination method for thin film transistor TFT devices wherein each ply of the laminate is a polymer and each contains a portion of the TFT or the interconnection circuit. The plies are laminated together using a solid adhesive polymer layer on the surface of one or both of the plies. The solid adhesive polymer layer has a low elastic modulus that provides effective encapsulation of the TFT, and laminates the plies without high heat or pressure.
