  • Patent number: 6579083
Abstract: A mold for producing a fuel cell separator with which a flash, even if it occurs, does not cause a thickness unevenness. The mold includes a plurality of molds 2, 4 and 10, and a fuel cell molding cavity 5 for separator being defined among the molds. At least one of the molds is provided with a flash reservoir cavity 11 which is communicated with the cavity 5. An amount of material in excess of the volume of the cavity 5 is charged, and melted by the application of pressure and heat. The melted material fills up the entire cavity 5, with the excess thereof entering the cavity 11. Since the molds 2 and 10 maintain a direct contact with each other, it is possible to obtain a separator molded with a high accuracy.

  • Patent number: 6569372
Abstract: A system and method for producing fuel cell separators can produce fuel cell separators with high contact performance. The fuel cell separator production system includes an upper mold which has a pattern corresponding to a pattern of gas passages for one surface of a fuel cell separator, a lower mold which has a pattern corresponding to a pattern of gas passages for other surface of the fuel cell separator, one or more nozzles which spray a gas on the periphery of the fuel cell separator on the lower mold, and a suction device which horizontally advances and retracts in a space between the upper mold and the lower mold and removes the fuel cell separator from the lower mold. The nozzles and the suction device are formed independently from the upper mold and the lower mold.

  • Patent number: 6397901
Abstract: A powder material supply device is able to supply powder material to a mold system equally and accurately to produce a fuel cell separator of high surface accuracy, thereby producing a high performance fuel cell. The powder material supply device includes a material supplier which is provided with a plurality of supply openings in a downward direction, a slide plate provided at the lower part of the material supplier and is slidable between a location where all of the supply openings are closed and another location where all the supply openings are opened, and a base to support the material supplier and the slide plate. The base has a single opening with a size substantially corresponding to a size of all of the supply openings.

  • Patent number: 6237122
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device includes a plurality of scan flip-flops connected in series for storing parallel data externally provided in a normal operation mode and for storing serial data externally provided in a scan mode by shifting the serial data. The semiconductor memory device further includes a control circuit which controls the plurality of scan flip-flops to refrain from shifting the serial data when data-read operations and data-write operations are conducted in the scan mode.

  • Patent number: 6104327
Abstract: An interface circuit is used for a serial D-A converter, the serial D-A converter having a digital signal in a form of serial data input thereto and determining a piece of data of the digital signal in the form of serial data defined by a point of change of a control signal as data to be converted into an analog signal. The interface circuit includes: a converting portion converting an input digital signal in a form of parallel data into the digital signal in the form of serial data to be input to the serial D-A converter; a specifying portion specifying the number of bits per piece of the data of the digital signal in the form of serial data, the piece of the data of the digital signal in the form of serial data being data to be converted into the analog data by the serial D-A converter; and a phase control portion changing the phase of the control signal in accordance with the number of bits specified by the specifying portion.
