  • Patent number: 8483615
Abstract: A wireless communication method includes receiving from an other wireless communication device, by using a non-contact communication method, specification data that indicates a communication function of the other wireless communication device. The wireless communication method also includes converting, if the specification data does not correspond to a wireless communication whose communication speed is faster than a communication speed of the non-contact communication method, a data format of transmission data that is transmitted to the other wireless communication device to a data format that reduces a data volume of the transmission data. Additionally, the wireless communication method includes transmitting, by the non-contact communication method, to the other wireless communication device, the transmission data whose data format was converted to reduce the data volume of the transmission data.

  • Patent number: 8433246
Abstract: A communication device includes a communication unit that performs a wireless communication with an external device. The communication device also includes a control unit that establishes the wireless communication between the communication unit and the external device by using setting data received from the external device. Further, the communication device includes a data processing unit that stores the setting data in a storage unit before the wireless communication is released. The communication device additionally includes a power input unit, and a communication releasing unit that releases the wireless communication between the communication unit and the external device. The control unit uses the setting data stored in the storage unit at a time of re-performing a wireless communication between the communication unit and the external device. The communication releasing unit releases the wireless communication when power is not being supplied via the power input unit.

  • Patent number: 8379334
Abstract: A biasing spring is interposed between a coupling plate and a covering section while being compressed from its natural length. The biasing spring biases, by its resilient force, a lens unit toward a ?Z side to bring a surface of the lens unit at the ?Z side into contact with an abutment portion of a fixing frame section. When a temperature of an actuator is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature, a biasing force of the biasing spring surpasses a force generated in the actuator, and thus the lens unit is not moved. When the actuator is heated up to a temperature equal to or higher than the predetermined temperature, the lens unit is continuously moved in the +Z direction. Thereby, movement of a lens due to a change of an environmental temperature can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20120300341
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an information recorder includes: a determination module; a storage module; a reader; and a writer. The determination module determines whether a position of a head for writing data is off a target track of a recording medium. The storage module temporarily stores therein data written by the head. The reader reads, if it is determined that the head is positioned off the target track, first data written in a sector which is considered overwritten by the head positioned off the target track among sectors of an adjacent track adjacent to the target track, from the storage module. The writer writes, if it is determined that the head is positioned off the target track, the first data into a sector positioned later than the sector into which data is written at the time the head is positioned off the target track.
