  • Publication number: 20070260809
Abstract: When there are very many images stored in a memory card, a time after a computer and a digital camera have been logically connected with each other until the computer and the camera answers a user becomes extremely long. When the digital camera caches the information of a file stored in a storage medium by accessing the storage medium in a reproduction mode, and when the digital camera and the computer are physically connected to each other and they are in a communication mode, information which the computer appears to request finally is generated and stored. After that, when the digital camera receives a data transfer request from the computer, the digital camera transmits stored information to the computer in a lump.

  • Publication number: 20070183760
Abstract: An imaging system is provided that is capable of controlling a photographic operation to provide favorable images of a fundus of an eye to be examined. When a normal photographic mode is selected, a single operation of a shutter button causes a single trigger signal to be generated. On the other hand, when a stereo photographic mode is selected, a single operation of a shutter button causes two trigger signals to be generated in succession. The generated trigger signal triggers a switching device so that a position of a photographic stop is automatically switched to a position predetermined for the photographic mode, and the photographic light source is caused to emit light a number of times that corresponds to the selected photographic mode. In such a configuration, fundus images are automatically produced a set number of times by a single operation of the shutter. Therefore, a high-quality fundus image can be obtained without concerns that an appropriate moment to capture an image will be missed.

  • Publication number: 20070186278
Abstract: In a thin client system, a PC authentication device which authenticates a client is set in an office of the client. Data existing in a server is printed by using a printer provided in the vicinity of a client PC according to the following steps. (1) The PC authentication device performs authentication with the client PC and acquires an identifier IDa of the client PC. (2) The PC authentication device notifies the server of the identifier IDa of the client PC and an identifier IDb of the PC authentication device. (3) The server registers the printer provided in the office where the PC authentication device having the identifier IDb is set as a printer which can be used by the client PC having the identifier Ida. According to the above-described flow, when the client PC is coupled with the server, the printer can be used.

  • Patent number: 7117662
Abstract: A gas turbine control system is disclosed which operates to stabilize the system frequency in a case of transitional variations of the system frequency without making the strength of hot gas path parts of the gas turbine below a maximum stress value of the hot gas path parts. When a system frequency abnormality is detected, the output of the gas turbine is adjusted to recover the system frequency by making a gas turbine combustion gas temperature control inoperative. For this purpose, there are provided a logical circuit operative to make the gas turbine combustion gas temperature control disabled or inoperative in response to an abnormal system frequency detection signal, and a recovery circuit that operates to cancel the inoperative state of the gas turbine combustion gas temperature control. The detection of an abnormal system frequency may be carried out by an outside signal. An abnormality detection unit may be provided in a combined cycle plant.

  • Patent number: 6991952
Abstract: Provided is a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device, which is adapted to prevent the deposition of a material on a laser light emitting edge, thereby enabling an improvement in longevity characteristics of a laser. A base having a laser chip mounted thereon is irradiated with an energy beam having a shorter wavelength than an oscillation wavelength of the laser chip. Photolysis and oxidation caused by the energy beam cause the removal of an adherent from the overall base or the deterioration thereof, and incidentally, the adherent is derived from an adhesive sheet used to attach the laser chip to the base, or the like. Preferably, laser light or ultraviolet light, for example, is used as the energy beam. Alternatively, the base having the laser chip mounted thereon may be irradiated with plasma so as to remove the adherent utilizing an ion cleaning effect of the plasma. After irradiation, a top is mounted to the base so as to shut off the laser chip from the outside.

  • Publication number: 20040117260
Abstract: When a management computer accepts a request for giving points from a giving source, the management computer confirms the expiration date of points of the giving source user, by referring to a user database that stores information of the number of points that a user has, and the expiration date of the points that the user has. The management computer accepts designation of a giving number of points and giving destination user from the giving source user, in a case where the expiration date of points of the giving source user has not passed. The management computer subtracts the designated giving number of points from the number of the points of the giving source user, stored in the user database, and adds the giving number of points to the number of points of the giving destination user, stored in the user database.
