  • Publication number: 20020015188
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus is connected to an information processing apparatus having e-mail capability, and image data is delivered by e-mail over a network. An information processing apparatus is provided with the capability to exchange messages by e-mail over a network. The facsimile apparatus exchanges image data over a public switched telephone network, reads image data with a scanner unit, and prints image data with a printer. An operating unit is provided with a plurality of keys, and the facsimile apparatus is connected with a connection interface unit to the information processing apparatus. Key data representing a predetermined key of the plurality of keys, setting data for setting this key data to e-mail mode, and recipient name data corresponding to the key code is set in the facsimile apparatus. When the predetermined key is activated, the data is sent over the connection interface unit to the information processing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4947268
Abstract: A data transmission system including a transmitter which has functions for encoding image data and transmitting it as one unit data, and a receiver which is connected to the transmitter over a communication line and has functions for sending its minimum transmission time to the transmitter and receiving one unit data from the transmitter, wherein the transmitter has a minimum transmission time detecting device for detecting the minimum transmission time of the receiver connected to the transmitter, a subtraction device for calculating deviation by subtracting the time required for transmitting each one unit data from the minimum transmission time detected by the minimum transmission time detecting device, an accumulating device for cumulatively storing deviations calculated by the subtraction device and an addition device for adding nul information to the one unit of data transmitted only when the sum of the deviations becomes less than zero.

  • Patent number: 4908851
Abstract: A facsimile communication apparatus is disclosed which is operable under either one of a facsimile mode for transmitting facsimile signal from a calling station along a telephone line to a called station, and a conversation mode for sending conversation signal from the calling station along the telephone line to the called station. The facsimile communication apparatus at the called station includes a detector for detecting a facsimile request signal indicative of a facsimile communication request made by a calling station within a predetermined period of time after a telephone line is connected to a facsimile communication apparatus of the calling station, and a signal producer for producing a facsimile request signal when the detector detects the facsimile request signal and for producing a conversation request signal when the detecting means detects no facsimile request signal within the predetermined period of time.

  • Patent number: 4432020
Abstract: A facsimile device includes an administration data storage system for memorizing the administration data related to each transmission operation. The data may comprise time data at which the transmission operation is initiated, time period data during which the transmission operation is conducted, document size data representing the size of the document sheet, sheet number data representing the number of document sheets, machine number data representing the machine number of the connected office, and operator code data representing the operator who conducted the transmission operation. The thus stored administration data is printed out at the end of each one day of work.

  • Patent number: 4312018
Abstract: A facsimile receiver includes a demodulator system for converting a received MH code (Modified Huffman Code) signal into a signal representing actual run length information. The demodulator system comprises a demodulation table ROM for comparing the received MH code signal with MH codes stored therein. The leading "0" included in the received MH code signal is counted to provide a portion of an input data to be applied to the demodulation table ROM. When the received MH code signal relates to the terminating code and the input data to the demodulation table ROM becomes identical with one of MH codes stored in the demodulation table ROM, an output data of the demodulation table ROM is utilized without modification to obtain the actual run length information.
