  • Patent number: 4689589
Abstract: A rotary actuator has a casing; a rotor rotatably provided in the casing; an exciting coil mounted on the rotor; a magnetic pole member provided in the casing which surrounds the rotor; first, second and third contact elements mounted on the rotor and electrically coupled to opposite end terminals and an intermediate terminal of the coil respectively; first and second stops provided in the casing and cooperating with the rotor to restrict the rotation thereof over a predetermined angular range; fourth, fifth and sixth contact elements mounted on the casing to cooperate respectively with the first, second and third contact elements such that the sixth contact element permanently contacts the third contact element, that the fourth contact element contacts the first contact element except when the rotor engages and is adjacent to the first stop and that the fifth contact element contacts the second contact element except when the rotor engages and is adjacent to the second stop; and a switch for applying electri

  • Patent number: 4666180
Abstract: A control system for controlling the damping force of a plurality of hydraulic dampers, each of which includes a damping force producing mechanism; a damping force adjustment member for adjusting the effective passage area of an oil passage in the damping force producing mechanism; an actuator connected to the damping force adjustment member; and an electrical power supply circuit for supplying electrical power to the actuator. The system includes: a first circuit for monitoring the operating time of the actuator and, when the operating time exceeds a first predetermined value, for forcibly moving the damping force adjustment member to a predetermined position by the actuator so as to thereby perform a forced damping force adjustment control and a second circuit for monitoring the operating time of the forced first circuit and, when the operating time of the first circuit exceeds a second predetermined value, for stopping the forced damping force adjustment control.

  • Patent number: 4432698
Abstract: A compressor having a starting load reducing apparatus comprises a main compressor body for compressing gas obtained under suction from an intake chamber through an intake valve within a compression chamber, and ejecting the compressed gas through an outlet opening, a motor for driving the main compressor body, a switch for starting the motor by closing, a solenoid mechanism operated by the closing of the switch, for forcibly communicating the compression chamber with the intake chamber, to put the main compressor body into a non-compressing operational state, and a positive thermally sensitive resistor element connected at a stage before a coil of the solenoid mechanism. The solenoid mechanism operates after the switch is closed until the time when the resistance of the positive thermally sensitive resistor element reaches a predetermined resistance.
