  • Publication number: 20040202823
Abstract: Between dielectric ceramic sheets 11A-11C and magnetic ceramic sheets 13A-13C, metallic alkoxide solution films are formed so as not to interfere with wiring patterns 12A-12C and 14A-14C. Thereafter, the dielectric ceramic sheets 11A-11C and the magnetic ceramic sheets 13A-13C are stacked and heat-treated at the temperature of about 200-400° C. This heat treatment leads to a sol-gel reaction of the metallic alkoxide solution, thereby providing intermediate layers 15. Through the intermediate layers 15, the adjacent ceramic sheets are coupled with each other. Since the ceramic sheets are coupled with each other using the sol-gel reaction which proceeds at a low temperature of about 200-400° C., the ceramic laminate is prevented from being deformed due to a difference in the thermal shrinkage coefficient between the ceramic sheets, thereby providing a ceramic laminate with no warpage and peeling.

  • Publication number: 20030141007
Abstract: The space between a material sheet laminate 105 and the inner wall of a processing chamber 13a is filled with a buffer material. The material sheet laminate is heated in a firing furnace while the material sheet laminate is pressurized through the buffer material in a way of reducing the volume of a processing chamber 13a by loading of a weight 17. In this way, the material sheet laminate 105 is fired which it is pressurized from all the directions through the buffer material 14. This suppresses the warp of a ceramic laminate 100 due to the densification phenomenon occurring during the step of firing the material sheet laminate 105, thereby providing the ceramic laminate 100 with no warp.

  • Publication number: 20020118519
Abstract: In a composite device having a laminate structure of a magnetic body ceramic layer 1 and a dielectric ceramic layer 2, an intermediate layer 3 is interposed between the ceramic layers 1 and 2. The intermediate layer 3 varies in composition in the direction of thickness thereof and exhibits substantially the same shrinkage as the magnetic body ceramic layer 1 at a joint thereof with this layer 1 when fired and substantially the same shrinkage as the dielectric ceramic layer 2 at a joint thereof with the layer 2 when fired, whereby the ceramic layers can be prevented from cracking or separating during firing.

  • Publication number: 20020117746
Abstract: In a composite device of the laminate type having a laminate structure of a composite ceramic layer 3 and a dielectric ceramic layer 2, the composite ceramic layer 3 comprises a layer portion 31 having the same composition as the dielectric ceramic layer 2 and a plurality of strip portions 32 formed on the surface of the layer portion 31. The strip portions 32 are made from magnetic ceramic material. This prevents the ceramic layers of the device from cracking and separating when fired.

  • Publication number: 20020097115
Abstract: A YIG film formed on a GGG substrate is separated by a stepwise groove for preparing YIG films having different intervals between end surfaces, and two YIG films resonating magnetostatic waves between the end surfaces having different intervals are coupled with each other for forming a resonator. Alternatively, a GGG substrate is arranged on a grounded substrate for arranging a YIG film on the GGG substrate, arranging ferromagnetic layers on both longitudinal ends of the YIG film on the main surface of the YIG film respectively, applying a dc magnetic field along the longitudinal direction of the YIG film, inputting an input signal from an input electrode arranged on the YIG film for propagating a magnetostatic wave through the YIG film and obtaining an output signal from an output electrode arranged on the YIG film.

  • Patent number: 4249503
Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculation system for an internal combustion engine employs an exhaust gas recirculation control valve in a passageway connecting the engine exhaust passage to the engine intake passage downstream from the throttle valve. The intake passage also provides a choke valve and a carburetor venturi section between the valves. An air conduit having an air control valve therein connects the intake passage between the throttle valve and the choke valve to the intake passage downstream from the throttle valve. Vacuum responsive actuators are provided for each of the control valves and they are operated by vacuum pressure regulated by a regulating valve, which is itself responsive to differential pressure between vacuum intensity in the intake passage upstream from said throttle valve and modified atmospheric pressure. The modified atmospheric pressure is obtained downstream of a restriction in the air conduit.

  • Patent number: 4151716
Abstract: An exhaust system for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine employs exhaust port liners each connected to a pair of adjacent exhaust ports and having a single discharge opening. An intake passage leads from each discharge opening to an auxiliary reaction chamber. Each intake passage may communicate with the same auiliary reaction chamber, or separate auxiliary reaction chambers may be provided for each intake passage. In either case, a main reaction chamber surrounds and encloses the auxiliary reaction chamber(s), and an outer chamber surrounds and encloses the main reaction chamber. Each auxiliary reaction chamber discharges into the main reaction chamber through an opening, and a misaligned opening connects the main reaction chamber to the outer chamber. If two auxiliary reaction chambers are employed, their openings are placed so that the streams of exhaust gases passing through them intersect within the main reaction chamber.

  • Patent number: 4094276
Abstract: The intake manifold for supplying air-fuel mixture from a single source to a plurality of cylinders of an internal combustion engine employs individual pipes all having the same cross sectional area but having different non-circular cross sectional contours. Where less fuel is needed at low engine speed and power output, the bottom half of each intake pipe is formed with a smaller internal radius of curvature than the top half. Where more fuel is needed at low engine speed and power output, the bottom half of each pipe is formed with a larger internal radius of curvature than the top half. The purpose is to better equalize the distribution of fuel to the cylinders under low speed and low power operation of the engine, without affecting fuel distribution at higher engine speeds.
