Patent number: 8075353Abstract: A boat propulsion unit includes a power source, a propeller, a shift position changing mechanism, a control device, and a speed reducing switch. The shift position changing mechanism has an input shaft, an output shaft, and first and second clutches. The first and second clutches change the connection state between the input shaft and the output shaft. In the shift position changing mechanism, the first and second clutches are engaged or disengaged, thereby changing the shift position among forward, neutral, and reverse. The control device controls connecting forces of the first and second clutches so that the propeller generates propulsive forces in the direction opposite to the present propulsive direction of a hull when the speed reducing switch is turned on by the operator of the boat. The boat propulsion unit easily retains the propulsive speed of a hull substantially at zero.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2009Date of Patent: December 13, 2011Assignee: Yamaha Hatsudoki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takayoshi Suzuki, Mitsuhiro Ryuman

Publication number: 20110273538Abstract: A light beam reflected from an ocular fundus 1a is split into a pair of right and left light beams by a two-aperture stop 31 disposed in a position conjugate with an anterior ocular segment 1b of an eye 1 to be examined. The pair of right and left ocular fundus images having a parallax is formed as intermediate images from the split light beams at the position of a photographic mask 43. The optical path of the pair of ocular fundus images formed as intermediate images is split by a pair of optical path splitting lenses 51, 52 disposed in a position substantially conjugate with the two-aperture stop. One ocular fundus image is re-formed on half of an imaging plane 53a of an imaging element 53, and the other ocular fundus image is re-formed separately on the other half of the imaging plane. With such a structure, two ocular fundus images for three-dimensional viewing can be efficiently obtained without using a prism for splitting the optical path.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2009Publication date: November 10, 2011Inventor: Takayoshi Suzuki

Patent number: 8016625Abstract: A marine propulsion system includes a power source, a propeller, a shift mechanism, a control lever, a rotational speed sensor, and a control device. The shift mechanism is switchable among three shift positions including forward, neutral, and reverse. The control lever is operable by the marine vessel operator to switch the shift position of the shift mechanism. The rotational speed sensor detects the rotational speed of the propeller. The control device controls at least one of the power source and the shift mechanism so as to reduce the rotational speed of the propeller if the rotational speed sensor detects a rotational speed of the propeller when the control lever is in a position corresponding to the neutral shift position. As a result, the propeller is prevented from rotating when a control lever is in a neutral position.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2009Date of Patent: September 13, 2011Assignee: Yamaha Hatsudoki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takayoshi Suzuki, Daisuke Nakamura

Patent number: 7848625Abstract: An imaging system is provided that is capable of controlling a photographic operation to provide favorable images of a fundus of an eye to be examined. When a normal photographic mode is selected, a single operation of a shutter button causes a single trigger signal to be generated. On the other hand, when a stereo photographic mode is selected, a single operation of a shutter button causes two trigger signals to be generated in succession. The generated trigger signal triggers a switching device so that a position of a photographic stop is automatically switched to a position predetermined for the photographic mode, and the photographic light source is caused to emit light a number of times that corresponds to the selected photographic mode. In such a configuration, fundus images are automatically produced a set number of times by a single operation of the shutter. Therefore, a high-quality fundus image can be obtained without concerns that an appropriate moment to capture an image will be missed.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2007Date of Patent: December 7, 2010Assignee: Kowa Company Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Mizuno, Takayoshi Suzuki, Yutaka Mizukusa

Publication number: 20100283971Abstract: A monocular image of a fundus of an eye under examination is captured via a photographic stop for monocular photography, and two stereographically viewed images are captured with a parallax via two photographic stops for stereographic photography that are decentered from a photographic optical axis. Defocused images are captured in the stereographic photography due to the deviation of the photographic stops from the optical axis. A corrective lens is inserted into the photographic optical path in order to correct the defocus in the stereographic photography. This makes it possible to readily correct defocus generated by deviation of the photographic stops from the photographic optical axis even when switching between monocular and stereographic photography modes.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2010Publication date: November 11, 2010Inventor: Takayoshi Suzuki
