  • Publication number: 20070215258
Abstract: The present invention provides a pneumatic tire which can obtain a high wet drainage performance, roadholding ability, and wear-resistant property without sacrificing other capabilities A directional pattern is formed by a circumferential wide major groove 14, a first narrow circumferential minor groove 16, a second narrow circumferential minor groove 18, a first transverse groove 20, a second transverse groove 22, and a third transverse groove 24. The circumferential wide major groove 14 is provided in a center region in a tire width direction of a tread 12. The first narrow circumferential minor groove 16 is arranged on the outside in a tire axis direction of the circumferential wide major groove 14. The second narrow circumferential minor groove 18 is arranged on the outside in the tire axis direction of the first narrow circumferential minor groove 16. The first transverse groove 20 is extended from a tread end 12E and coupled to the circumferential wide major groove 14.

  • Publication number: 20070006955
Abstract: A pneumatic tire which has improved drainage property on a wet road surface and improved uneven wear resistance and steering stability on a dry road surface while enhancing drainage property on a wet road surface. The tire has at least a pair of circumferential grooves 2 disposed at a tread portion 1. An inner land portion 3 and an outer land portion 4 are defined by outermost circumferential grooves 2a. A plurality of transverse grooves 5 are disposed on at least the outer land portion 4 and the outer land portion 4 is divided and formed into a large number of blocks by these transverse grooves 5. The width w1 of the groove bottom 6 of the outermost circumferential groove 2a is narrower than the opening width w2. The groove bottom extends with inclination with respect to the tire circumferential direction so that it substantially continues to the transverse groove between the adjacent transverse grooves. The groove bottom forms the zigzag shape as a whole.

  • Patent number: 6796347
Abstract: Auxiliary grooves 28 are formed in land portions 26 so that the wet performance is improved by the increase in the edge factors of the auxiliary grooves 28 and by the water absorbing actions of the auxiliary grooves 28. Since the auxiliary grooves 28 are arranged on the shorter diagonal lines of the land portions 26, the land portions 26 are divided into two triangles approximating equilateral triangles so that the reduction, as caused by providing the auxiliary grooves 28, of the rigidity of the land portions 26 can be suppressed to the minimum. As a result, the deformation of the land portions 26 is suppressed to maintain the dry performance.
