  • Patent number: 9146326
Abstract: An x-ray image detector monitors the intensity of incident x-rays to detect an end of radiation from an x-ray source when the x-ray intensity decreases to a threshold level or less. The x-ray intensity gets down to zero with a variable time lag from the start of decreasing, called radiation wave tail. Depending on the gradient of declivity in time curve of the decreasing x-ray intensity, calculated at the time when the end of radiation is detected, the x-ray image detector decides a delay time from the end-of-radiation detection time to a reading start time to start reading signal charges from the image detector. Thus, the reading start time may be adjusted to the point when the x-ray intensity gets down to zero, which will improve S/N ratio and prevent shading artifacts.

  • Patent number: 9072440
Abstract: A detection field setting unit of a console sets a detection field of detection pixels of an electronic cassette which are used to detect the dose of X-rays passing through a subject so as to correspond to each irradiation position on the basis of irradiation positions of an X-ray source set by a driving condition setting unit and ROI information such as the position and the size of a region of interest (ROI) of the subject M input through an input device and the height thereof from a radiography platform. The electronic cassette performs an automatic exposure control of detecting the dose of X-rays by the use of the detection pixels in the detection field set by the detection field setting unit of the console and automatically controlling the irradiation dose of X-rays on the basis of the detected dose, when performing a radiographing operation at the irradiation positions.

  • Patent number: 8948543
Abstract: A console of an X-ray imaging system functions as a query receiver and a retrieval section to support decision on an exposure condition. The query receiver receives a retrieval query such as an exposed body portion and an exposure direction. The retrieval section refers to an exposure date of image files having the same patient ID number, and calculates an exposure interval between a pair of prior and subsequent image files the exposure dates of which are the nearest to each other. The exposure interval is compared with a threshold value. If the exposure interval is less than the threshold value, neither image file is assigned as a model image file. If the exposure interval is the threshold value or more, the subsequent image file is assigned as the model image file. The retrieval section retrieves the image file matching the retrieval query out of the model image files.

  • Patent number: 8917928
Abstract: A search processing unit of a central server searches for radiographing information matched with a designated radiographing part, among all items of the radiographing information of a medical facility having radiographing information matched with a detection device ID from a storage device. A sorting unit performs classification into medical facilities (first group), in which the radiation dose after an X-ray image detection device of the designated detection device ID is introduced has changed from that before the introduction, and medical facilities (second group) in which the radiation dose after the X-ray image detection device of the designated detection device ID is introduced has not changed. A statistical data generation unit generates a histogram, in which the range of radiation dose is set as the class on the horizontal axis and the number of medical facilities is set as the frequency on the vertical, for each of first and second groups.

  • Patent number: 8637832
Abstract: A flat panel detector has an imaging area, in which pixels are arrayed in a matrix and signal lines for reading out electric signals from the pixels are provided, to detect an image of a subject from x-rays which are incident on the imaging area after penetrating the subject. Detective elements are arranged in the imaging area, to output electric signals corresponding to incident x-rays. Based on previously stored sensitivity data on the detective elements, high-sensitivity elements are selected from among the detective elements. The start of radiation and the end of radiation of x-rays toward the imaging area are detected by monitoring the electric signals from the selected high-sensitivity elements, to control operation of the imaging device on the basis of the detected start and end of radiation.
