  • Patent number: 7257824
Abstract: A worm mechanism for a disk player includes a worm gear securely connected to a rotary shaft of a motor, a worm wheel coupled to the worm gear and further connected to driving mechanisms in the disk player and a radial stopper, wherein the worm gear including a boss part securely connected to said rotary shaft, a screw shaft part and a connection part coaxially formed between the boss part and screw shaft part in a unified structure, wherein the radial stopper is disposed on the other side of the worm wheel, apart from the screw shaft part in a predetermined gap in the vicinity of the end of the screw shaft part opposite to the boss part and wherein the connection part has in at least part thereof in the axial direction an effective cross section which is smaller than the cross section of the screw shaft part.

  • Patent number: 7194746
Abstract: A tray drive mechanism has a simple structure, and yet both an optical disc clamping operation and a tray opening and closing operation can be driven by one feed motor. The tray drive mechanism comprises: a feed gear and a tray drive gear that are rotated by a feed motor; a rack member to mesh with the feed gear so as to be driven in direction to inner circumference of the optical disc; a plate trigger driven by the rack member so as to slide; and a cam slider to slide in linkage with the plate trigger. When the cam slider is slided in linkage with plate trigger so as to be driven in direction by the tray drive gear meshing with a rack, a boss of the cam slider pushes a slope portion of each of cam grooves and provided in a tray, so that the tray slides to cause a rack of the tray to mesh with the tray drive gear. Thus, the tray is opened and closed by the feed motor.

  • Publication number: 20070044110
Abstract: There is provided a disk clamping apparatus capable of preventing abnormal noise and/or chucking error with a simple structure. A tapered surface 1aa opened upward is provided in the entire inner peripheral edge portion at the lower part of a housing 1a in a clamper holder 1. Then, the tapered surface is adapted to guide and center a clamper 2. It is specifically arranged that when the clamper 2 is displaced with respect to the center position, the flange portion 2a thereof once gets on the tapered surface 1aa, but subsequently slides down along the tapered surface 1aa, whereby the clamper 2 is centered automatically.

  • Publication number: 20060218568
Abstract: An optical disc loading apparatus has a traverse chassis, an optical disc drive mechanism, a motor mount plate, an optical head, and a first to a third distance adjuster that adjust the distance between the traverse chassis and the motor mount plate. The first distance adjuster is located on one of the X and Y axes at a position where the first distance adjuster does not interfere with the turn table. The second and third distance adjusters are located symmetrically about the one of the X and Y axes on which the first distance adjuster is located. Thus, with a simple construction and by a simple manner, the angle and the distance between an optical disc and the optical head can be adjusted, and laser light can be shone from the optical head to the optical disc with high accuracy so that data can be read or recorded with accordingly high accuracy.

  • Patent number: 5981284
Abstract: A first embodiment of a cell culture system has a cell death accelerator comprising one or more cell death inducing substances, including serum albumin, hemoglobin, glycine and glutamic acid. In a second embodiment a cell death inhibitor comprises one or more kinds of cell death inhibiting substances which include mercapto group containing amino acids, other mercapto group containing compounds and tryptophan. In a third embodiment a cell death inhibitor comprises an inhibitor of RNA or protein synthesis, optionally augmented with a thiol. The system can be applied to selectively induce death of cultured cells, such as neoplastic cell lines, or to inhibit death of other cells, such as neoplastic cell lines or non-neoplastic cells such as brain cells.
