  • Publication number: 20030021281
Abstract: A transmission system allowing a response test to be activated from cable side and easy detection of occurrence of a failure is disclosed. In a transmission system for transmitting data between a first communication point and a second communication point along a link, a test manager transmits a trigger signal to a media converter on the link, and determines a location of a failure depending on whether a response block of data is received from a corresponding media converter within a predetermined time period. When a media converter has received the trigger signal, a response packet corresponding to the trigger signal is transmitted back to a source that has transmitted the trigger signal. A packet buffer is preferably provided in a media converter so that when one link is disconnected, the other link can be used to transmit packets, allowing a link test.

  • Publication number: 20020193972
Abstract: A workshop facility designing and operating method of the invention is for authoring a virtual workshop that is a data model of a workshop newly organized in part or in its entirety. After the organization, simulating means causes the virtual workshop to perform a quasi-production activity to verify a production state and a physical distribution state. An actual workshop is then constructed that matches with the verified virtual workshop. The constructed actual workshop is remote monitored and a result of this monitoring is compared with a result of verification during a virtual workshop verification process. In this way, verification of the workshop in its entirety can be performed simply so that workshop deployment such as a new set-up of a production line and change in process step of the existing line can be carried out efficiently and quickly in a short time. Remote monitoring of the constructed workshop can also be performed properly.

  • Patent number: 5832012
Abstract: A laser scanning unit emits a laser beam for scanning a surface within a predetermined scanning range. The laser scanning unit has a laser diode, and a laser diode controller for controlling the laser diode to emit the laser beam. The laser beam has an intensity set in accordance with image data corresponding to one of a plurality of predetermined graduation steps within an intensity range defined by a first intensity and a second intensity greater than the first intensity. The laser scanning unit is further provided with a first adjusting system for adjusting the first intensity to become a first predetermined intensity, and a second adjusting system for adjusting the second intensity to become a second predetermined intensity. One of the first adjusting system and the second adjusting system is actuated during each scanning operation, and are actuated alternately during successive scanning operations.

  • Patent number: 4101878
Abstract: A make-type contact of a relay-type member and a manual switch are connected between a commerical A.C. power supply and a load circuit. The manual switch is turned on only when it is being manually actuated and turned off when it is not manually actuated. A winding of the relay is connected to the load circuit such that an excitation current flows therethroiugh through the load circuit or a control unit, and it is also connected to the control unit for receiving signals from a remote control unit. When the manual switch is turned on through manual actuation, a power is supplied to the load circuit or the control unit to excite the winding-type portion so that the make-type contact is closed to hold the power to the load circuit even after the turn-off of the manual switch. When the control unit, on the other hand receives the signal from the remote control unit the winding-type portion is deenergized to stop the supply of the power to the load circuit.
