  • Patent number: 6641028
Abstract: At least two workpieces are provided and an intermediate member is arranged as a filler between opposed end faces of the workpieces. The workpieces are pressed against each other via the intermediate member to produce friction pressure therebetween while rotating or vibrating the intermediate member at a high speed. Then, each workpiece is upset to the intermediate member on bringing the rotation or the vibration of the intermediate member to a halt. Thus, the workpieces are easily and securely joined without causing any defects.

  • Publication number: 20030111514
Abstract: Plate parts (1, 2) to be joined are formed with flat meeting surfaces (1A, 2A) and beveled surfaces (1B, 2B) at the respective joining ends, and fixed in a welding position with the flat meeting surfaces (1A, 2A) in abutting engagement with each other. In this state, a cladding material (4) is pressed against a groove (3) between the two plate parts (1, 2) and at the same time put in high speed rotation. Heat of high temperature is generated by friction between contacting surfaces of the plate parts (1, 2) and the cladding material (4). As the cladding material (4) is moved along the meeting surfaces (1A, 2A), part of plasticized cladding material at the lower end of the cladding material (4) is left and deposited on the front side of the groove (3), contributing to increase the cladding volume of a weld portion (5) on the front side of the groove (3) and to enhance the strength of bondage between the two plate parts (1, 2).

  • Patent number: 6578426
Abstract: A semiconductor sensor chip mounted on a thin diaphragm of a cylindrical metallic stem via an insulation layer is hermetically contained in a housing of a pressure sensor. The sensor chip includes a strain gage for outputting an electrical signal according to distortion of the diaphragm caused by pressure to be measured. A shield layer is interposed between the insulation layer and the sensor chip, and the shield layer is grounded. Influence of outside noises on the sensor outputs is eliminated or suppressed by the grounded shield layer even if the outside noises are in a high frequency region.

  • Publication number: 20030073561
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a honeycomb body (1) formed by winding a flat metal foil (3) and a corrugated metal foil (4) in layers and brazing them, capable of reducing the equipment cost of honeycomb body manufacturing facilities and conforming to the countermeasure against an engine misfire problem of the honeycomb body, without causing insufficient or excessive application of adhesive which is seen in the cases of adhesive application methods using rolls; and relates to a method of manufacturing a honeycomb body characterized by: applying an adhesive to the portions to be brazed of the flat or corrugated foil corresponding to a bonding portion (17) which is located at one or both ends of the honeycomb body and/or a bonding portion (18) inside the honeycomb body over a cross section which is located away from one or both ends thereof in the axial direction; then, winding the flat and corrugated foils in layers to form a honeycomb body; then, making the portion of one or both end

  • Publication number: 20020145347
Abstract: The present invention relates a vibration generating motor providing simple and fast assembly, and ready recycling. A motor includes a plurality of rotors around a rotary shaft, a plurality of coil winding portions on respective rotors, and a coil on each respective coil winding portion. At least a two part weight is positioned between selected coil winding portions and has an seperably upper and lower part, allowing weight maximization at low cost while conserving space.

  • Patent number: 6252395
Abstract: Magnetic resistive elements 4 and 5 cooperatively detect the change of the magnetic field responsive to the rotation of a gear 2 fixed to a shaft 1. An amplification circuit 6 comprises an operational amplifier 7 having an input terminal to which a gain-determining input resistor 8 is connected. A gain-determining feedback resistor 9 is provided in a feedback path of the operational amplifier 7. The gain-determining resistors 8 and 9 are formed by a P well region and a P+ region of a MOS process element. The temperature characteristics of the gain-determining resistor 8 and 9 are opposed to that of the magnetic resistive elements 4 and 5. The temperature characteristics of the gain of the operational amplifier 7 cancel the temperature characteristics of the magnetic resistive elements 4 and 5.

  • Patent number: 6075301
Abstract: A pair of C-shaped magnets are fitted to a resin holder and inserted as a unit into a cup-shaped motor case. The resin holder has a diameter that is slightly greater than the inside diameter of the motor case, but includes resilient elements that are compressible during insertion of the resin holder and the magnets. After insertion the resilient elements urge the resin holder and the magnets into frictional contact with the inside of the motor case, thereby retaining the magnets in place without the need for adhesive. A U-shaped groove in the resin holder is engaged by a positioning projection in the motor case to establish the rotational positioning of the resin holder and thereby the rotational positioning of the C-shaped magnets. A rotor is rotationally fixed in the motor case on a shaft which rotates in the motor case at one end and in a bracket covering the open end of the motor case at the other end.

  • Patent number: 5698918
Abstract: A shield band, made from grain-oriented silicon metal, is wrapped about a case of a motor to reduce electromagnetic emissions. The case is protected by a strip of tape adhered to an outer surface of the case. The shield band is made by pressing a strip of metal against a strip of tape with an adhesive agent between them. The resulting strip is cut to length and curled around a roller to form a band which conforms to the outer perimeter of the small D.C. motor. A plate bridges the facing ends of the shield band.
