An EL layer includes a first layer, a second layer, a third layer, a light-emitting layer, and a fourth layer in this order from the anode side. The first layer contains a first organic compound and a second organic compound. The fourth layer contains a seventh organic compound. The first organic compound exhibits an electron-accepting property with respect to the second organic compound. A HOMO level of the second organic compound is higher than or equal to ?5.7 eV and lower than or equal to ?5.4 eV. • Publication number: 20220069246
Abstract: A light-emitting device having a long lifetime is provided. In a light-emitting device that includes an EL layer between a pair of electrodes, the carrier balance is controlled with a hole-injection layer and an electron-transport layer of the EL layer having certain structures, so that the carrier balance spontaneously changes during driving and the initial degradation of the light-emitting device is inhibited. In addition, at this time, the rate of the spontaneous change is low when an electron-injection barrier at the interface between a light-emitting layer and the electron-transport layer of the EL layer which are stacked is high; thus, it is possible to obtain a light-emitting device which is excellent in terms of long-term degradation.

  • Publication number: 20210367177
Abstract: A light-emitting device including an EL layer including a first layer, a second layer, a third layer, a light-emitting layer, and a fourth layer in this order from the anode side is provided. The first layer contains a first organic compound and a second organic compound. The light-emitting layer contains a sixth organic compound. The fourth layer contains a seventh organic compound. The first organic compound exhibits an electron-accepting property with respect to the second organic compound. A HOMO level of the second organic compound is higher than or equal to ?5.7 eV and lower than or equal to ?5.2 eV. A HOMO level of the third organic compound is equal to or deeper than the HOMO level of the second organic compound. A difference between the HOMO levels of the second organic compound and the third organic compound is less than or equal to 0.2 eV. A LUMO level of the sixth organic compound is shallower than a LUMO level of the seventh organic compound.
