  • Patent number: 7826867
Abstract: In a wireless communication terminal having a flashlight, the power consumption is decreased by means of enabling a transmitter to transmit during transmission periods, and disabling the transmitter outside the transmission periods. Moreover, a supply of voltage from a common power supply to a flashlight unit is disabled during the transmitting periods of the transmitter.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 16, 2005
Date of Patent: November 2, 2010
    Assignee: Nokia Corporation
Inventors: Timo T. Lindqvist, Tapani Ekman
  • Publication number: 20080297124
Abstract: The invention is related to an apparatus configured to: monitor a power supply voltage and a transmission power need and adjust transmission power according to the power supply voltage and the transmission power need for prolonging operation time of an electronic device when the power supply voltage is at least the same as a predetermined limiting value set for a power supply voltage of the electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20070015472
Abstract: The invention is related to a multimode transmitter comprising: generating means for generating signals according to different communication standards; amplifying means for amplifying the signals generated according to the different communication standards; and conveying means for conveying the signals from the generating means to the amplifying means, the conveying means being shared by the signals generated according to the different communication standards.

  • Patent number: 6775558
Abstract: For establishing a local communication connection between a terminal (102) of a cellular radio system and an accessory device (103), a radio channel is identified (301, 302) on which there is no perceivable radio traffic in the cellular radio system, and a communication connection is established (303, 501) between the terminal and the accessory device on the identified radio channel. The radio channel is preferably a code channel of a CDMA system.

  • Patent number: 6288606
Abstract: A linear power amplifier arrangement is used for providing a selectable amount of amplification to a radio frequency signal to be amplified. The arrangement comprises a first parallel amplifier branch and a second parallel amplifier branch and means for conducting the radio frequency signal to be amplified selectably to one of the parallel amplifier branches. Additionally it comprises in the first parallel amplifier branch a series connection of a predistorter and a nonlinear amplifier, where said predistorter is arranged to compensate for the nonlinearity of said nonlinear amplifier.
