  • Patent number: 5517299
Abstract: A key plate examination apparatus and examination method whereby the form of an examined key plate can be recognized accurately and form information of a reference key plate can be compared with the recognized key plate form to determine their conformity rapidly. The form of the examined key plate is recognized by form recognition means, and form information is generated by form information generation means in response to the recognized form of the examined key plate. On the other hand, form information of the key number corresponding to a key number input externally is retrieved by key number retrieval means from a key information memory means storing the key number proper to the reference key plate and its corresponding form information. The form information generated by the form information generation means is compared with the form information retrieved by the key number retrieval means to determine their conformity by determination means.

  • Patent number: 4893243
Abstract: A control device for maintaining a constant speed of an automobile, having an internal combustion engine with a throttle valve and an actuator for the throttle valve. A degree of opening of the throttle valve is decided to bring the speed of the automobile to a desired set speed, corrected in accordance with running conditions by cyclically repeating an integral calculation at a first pattern to provide an integral correction value when a difference exists between the detected speed and the set speed. This integral correcting value is quickly returned at a second pattern greater than the first pattern when the integral correction value becomes greater than a predetermined value and the relationship between the detected speed and the set speed is reversed.

  • Patent number: 4862367
Abstract: An automatic speed control apparatus for controlling the running speed of a vehicle at a constant set speed includes an auxiliary intake passage providing direct communication between portions of a main intake passage upstream and downstream from a throttle valve so as to bypass the throttle valve, an auxiliary intake air valve adapted for controlling the flow rate of air in the auxiliary intake passage, and a fuel supply cut-off means for suspending the supply of fuel to the engine from a moment at which a fuel supply cut-off condition is met, which requires the throttle valve to be set at the minimum opening position and the engine speed to be higher than a predetermined fuel supply cut-off engine speed, until the moment at which a predetermined fuel supply recovery condition is met. An actuator for actuating the throttle valve is controlled so as to vary the degree of opening degree of the throttle valve and enable the vehicle to run at the constant set speed.

  • Patent number: 4814991
Abstract: A cruise control system for a vehicle having an internal combustion engine provided with a throttle valve operated by a diaphragm actuator irrespective of a depression of an accelerator pedal by an operator of the vehicle. The system is provided with a system for controlling a vehicle speed in a so-called "dead zone" where hunting usually occurs if a normal feedback control is executed. A time-interval integrating unit is provided for integrating the deviation of the acutal speed with respect to the target speed with a time interval as well as a weight factor, so that the integrated value corresponds to the change in the deviation in the dead zone. The integrated value is compared with a predetermined value corresponding to a change in the vehicle speed which is obtainable when the least significant bit in the control signal output to the actuator is changed.

  • Patent number: 4803637
Abstract: A cruise control system for a vehicle having an internal combustion engine is provided with a throttle valve operated by a diaphragm actuator irrespective of a depression of an accelerator pedal by an operator of the vehicle. The system is provided with a control circuit for controlling an electric signal applied to the actuator. A fixed level signal is first applied to the actuator for a short period after a cruise mode operation has commenced, so that the diaphragm is quickly moved to prevent a temporary decrease in the vehicle speed. After the elapse of the predetermined time, the level of the electric signal is controlled by feedback so that the vehicle speed is controlled to a target speed. A feedback gain initially has a first value for a period after the feedback control is commenced and then has a second value which is smaller than the first value.
