Patent number: 12247490Abstract: This shaft sealing device comprises: a housing that has a storage groove; a seal body stored in the storage groove; and a projected part that projects from one of the housing and the seal body toward the other in the storage groove in an axial direction. The seal body divides an annular space into a high-pressure region on a first side in the axial direction and a low-pressure region on a second side in the axial direction. The housing has a connection part that connects the low-pressure region with the inside of the storage groove. The projected part divides a portion between an opposite surface and a low-pressure-side lateral surface of the seal body into a first space on the radially outer side and a second space on the radially inner side. The connection part connects the first space with the low-pressure region.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2023Date of Patent: March 11, 2025Assignee: MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES, LTD.Inventors: Kohei Ozaki, Masaya Kawano, Azumi Yoshida, Shintaro Okumura, Tatsuro Furusho, Shin Nishimoto

Publication number: 20250035006Abstract: A sealing device including: a sealing member that is disposed between a rotating member of a rotating machine and a stationary member disposed on the outer side of the rotating member in the radial direction of the rotating member, and that creates a seal between the rotating member and the stationary member; and a biasing member that biases the sealing member toward the radially outer side. The sealing member has a base extending in the circumferential direction of the rotating member, a rib that extends in the circumferential direction and protrudes outward in the radial direction from the base, and a seal fin that extends in the circumferential direction and protrudes inward in the radial direction of the rotating member from the base. The rib has a cut-away part in which the biasing member is disposed between one end and the other end of the rib in the circumferential direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2023Publication date: January 30, 2025Inventors: Tatsuro FURUSHO, Shin NISHIMOTO, Shintaro OKUMURA, Kenichi SAKASHITA, Masaya KAWANO, Kohei OZAKI, Azumi YOSHIDA

Patent number: 11905838Abstract: A seal member is disposed between a rotor and a stator to provide a seal between the rotor and the stator. The seal member comprises: a rotary-side member fixed to a surface of the rotor opposing the stator; a fixed-side member fixed to the stator and facing the rotary-side member; and a first fin and a second fin which are disposed on one of the rotary-side member and the fixed-side member, the first fin protruding on the opposing surface side, the second fin being disposed on a lower pressure side in a rotating axis direction relative to the first fin and protruding on the opposing surface side. The thickness, in the rotating axis direction, of the second fin at the root thereof is greater than the thickness, in the rotating axis direction, of the first fin at the root thereof.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2020Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES, LTD.Inventors: Tatsuro Furusho, Shin Nishimoto, Hidekazu Uehara, Kohei Ozaki, Azumi Yoshida
