Rewriting mask data is produced in a CPU register, and the mask pattern is rewritten by repeating the produced mask data. According to the present invention, it is not necessary to prepare mask data by assuming a defective nozzle in advance, so that high speed complementary recording processing can be performed with simple configuration.
