    Abstract: In a rotating apparatus for top ends, a transport path for the top ends is defined along an outer periphery of a turntable which is rotatable intermittently. Top-end holding platforms are arranged on the outer periphery of the turntable in spaced relation to each other along the transport path so as to correspond to work stations. At least one of the top-end holding platforms is rotated about its axis relative to the turntable. The top-end holding platforms are movable together with the turntable about an axis thereof. Annular positioning grooves are formed respectively in upper faces of the top-end holding platforms. An annular projection of the top end is fitted in the positioning groove. A ventilation passageway has one end opening to the upper face of the top-end holding platform. A source of suction air is connected to the other end of the air-ventilation passageway.

The device has an excellent capability of removing a mucus from a cervical canal of a fertilized animal.
