    Abstract: A vertical slab gel electrophoresis apparatus which has first and second upper electrolytic chambers and a lower electrolytic chamber. A mold assembly containing the slab gel is received in the lower electrolytic chamber and the upper portion of the mold assembly comprises the second upper electrolytic chamber. The first upper electrolytic chamber is spaced apart from the second upper electrolytic chamber. A wick-like material is placed in both the upper electrolytic chambers to provide for electrical communication therebetween.
