  • Patent number: 11961699
Abstract: A charged particle beam device which prevents an appearance of a shading contrast due to azimuth discrimination and obtains a clear magnetic domain contrast image with a high resolution and a high throughput. The charged particle beam device includes an electron beam source; a sample stage; an objective lens configured to focus electron beams on a sample; a detector that is mounted on a charged particle beam source side with respect to the objective lens and separately detects secondary electrons emitted in azimuth angle ranges of two or more different azimuths for the same observation region; an image processing and image management device including an image processing unit configured to perform synthesis after performing shading correction and contrast adjustment on an image obtained by detecting a first emission azimuth and an image obtained by detecting a second emission azimuth; an image database; and an image display unit.

  • Patent number: 5260982
Abstract: A flying-spot pencil beam generating unit is arranged under a conveyor. A backscatter detector is located between an upper belt and a lower belt of the conveyor. Thus, this apparatus is set up to be perpendicular. A pencil beam is irradiated upward and scans an object on the belt of the conveyor by the flying-spot pencil beam generating unit, as the conveyor carries the object to be inspected. The backscatter detector gathers Compton scatter X-rays transmitted through the upper belt, as they reflect back from the object. A CPU produces a backscatter image based on the detection signal output from the backscatter detector. The backscatter image is shown on a display unit to enable detection of low-Z materials, such as plastic explosives and narcotics. In addition to the backscatter imaging, the unit may retain use of a transmitted image to thus reliably detect metal-based weapons such as guns.

  • Patent number: 4738116
Abstract: The present invention provides an air conditioner comprising, at a blowout port, a vertically deflecting vane and a group of the laterally deflecting vanes for respectively vertically and laterally deflecting the wind blown out from the blowout port. The group of the laterally deflecting vanes is partitioned with respect to the center of the blowout port into at least one rightwardly deflecting vane and at least one leftwardly deflecting vane, so that the rightwardly deflecting vane and the leftwardly deflecting vane can be individually operated.

  • Patent number: 4180185
Abstract: The present invention is aimed at measuring accurately. In an intact state, the weight of powder of particularly low bulk density which fluctuates widely in response to a slight external force. The invention relates to a weight measuring method and apparatus the essential points of which are that the flow pattern of powder flowing by air continuously is standardized by a high pressure fan and, at the same time, on the wall of duct communicating with said high pressure fan, an irradiation ray projector and a radioactive ray detector are oppositely disposed. A control circuit, consisting of an indicate controller, a converter, a ratio setter and an isolator and connected to said radioactive ray detector, provides continuous measuring of the weight of air-flowing powder and enables the subsequent control of various working processes proportionately to said detected weight.

  • Patent number: 4155968
Abstract: An improved method or process for the continuous manufacture of mats to be processed into composition boards is disclosed, the board-forming process being a dry process involving hot-pressing of the mats and curing of the binder. The mats comprise a fibrous or particulate material or materials, and a binder, the mats being dry. The mat material is laid onto a conveyor by formers or felters. In order to ensure that the resulting composition board has a uniform strength distribution and uniform specific gravity or density, a beta ray density measuring device measures successively the weight of air-borne material passing through a conduit or conduits to the forming apparatus, and the measured value is used to regulate the speed of the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4014625
Abstract: A transverse flow fan having improved characteristics for improving performance thereof while substantially reducing or eliminating fan noise characteristic of such fans. The blade angles of the impeller blades are in a particular relationship to the control angles of the surfaces of the tongue in the casing which extends close to the periphery of the fan. Various control means are provided for improving and stabilizing flow through the impeller, such as a control plate in the inflow space, a tongue surface in the outflow space with a specially shaped depression therein, at least one ring around the impeller at a point along the axial length thereof, and various projections projecting into the outflow space. Particular limited relationships are provided between the position of the tongue and the position of the curved outer wall of the casing where it is closest to the impeller and the curvature of the wall relative to the dimensions of the impeller.
