  • Patent number: 11898522
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter includes an intake manifold for an internal combustion engine that can have a labyrinth structure located therein configured to cause fluids, such as blow-by from engine exhaust, to move in a non-linear direction. The intake manifold can have a plenum including an inlet opening, a plurality of runners, each of the runners extending from the plenum and including a first end opened to the plenum and a second end configured to be connected to the internal combustion engine, and a ventilation chamber, the ventilation chamber extending along each of the runners. The ventilation chamber can include a plurality of ports spaced along the ventilation chamber, each port opens into a respective one of the runners, and a labyrinth inside the ventilation chamber and extending across the ventilation chamber.

  • Publication number: 20200284232
Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a delivery pipe through which a fuel is supplied to a fuel injection valve, a high-pressure fuel passage connected to the upstream side of the delivery pipe, and a high-pressure fuel pump connected to the upstream side of the high-pressure fuel passage. At least two narrowed-passage sections are disposed in the delivery pipe or the high-pressure fuel passage.

  • Patent number: 10519912
Abstract: The present invention provides a protective construction of a fuel pump. The protective construction includes a pump shield, disposed on an internal-combustion engine, wherein a specified interval exists at a carriage side of a vehicle in opposite to a high-pressure fuel pump and the pump shield overlaps the high-pressure fuel pump in a front and rear direction. The pump shield includes: a base portion having a width increasing gradually towards the high-pressure fuel pump; a left protective arm portion and a right protective arm portion, extending diagonally and integrally extend upwards from a specified location of the base portion to the side of the high-pressure fuel pump, wherein an interval between the left protective arm portion and the right protective arm portion increases gradually towards the high-pressure fuel pump, and a beam portion, integrally extending between the left protective arm portion and the right protective arm portion.

  • Patent number: 9322372
Abstract: A fuel injection valve includes a cylinder internal pressure sensor disposed in the vicinity of a distal end thereof. The cylinder internal pressure sensor detects a cylinder internal pressure in a cylinder and outputs a first sensor signal Ss1 responsive to the detected cylinder internal pressure. Further, a signal processor, which carries out predetermined signal processing with respect to the first sensor signal Ss1 to thereby convert the first sensor signal Ss1 into a second sensor signal Ss2, is disposed between the cylinder internal pressure sensor and a solenoid unit, which is disposed on a proximal end side of the fuel injection valve.

  • Patent number: 7661405
Abstract: Provided is a throttle valve device for an internal combustion engine which is favorably protected from icing, and enables a favorable control of the intake flow rate by avoiding an abrupt increase in the flow rate particularly in a small opening angle range. An upstream recess (21) and a downstream recess (22) are formed in a lower part of the throttle bore (11) of the throttle valve device. Moisture that may deposit on the inner wall of the throttle bore is allowed to be drained to the recesses. A cross sectional area of one of the recesses over which the lower edge of the throttle valve member sweeps as the throttle valve member (30) opens from the fully closed position is smaller than that of the other recess so that an abrupt change in the intake flow rate can be avoided in a small opening angle region.
