  • Patent number: 8317579
Abstract: A video game is provided in which a player can switch a player character in a battle to an enemy character by a switching operation. With such a switching operation, the player performs the battle with the enemy character. If a predetermined time elapses, the enemy character is switched back to the player character. At this time, an HP of the enemy character reflects on an HP of the player character. If a special ability of the enemy character is used, the special ability is inherited by the player character and can be used in battles thereafter.

  • Patent number: 7841943
Abstract: An added value is set to a battle tool for customizing the battle tool stored as battle tool information in a battle tool information managing table in response to customization request by operations of a player. A plurality of battle tools are stored in the battle tool information managing table. A player character can be equipped with any of the battle tools among the plurality of battle tools. When the battle tool information Is read out from the battle tool information managing table in response to display request of a battle tool, a display apparatus is caused to display one or more battle tool in a battle screen. The battle tool information thus read out indicates the one or more battle tool. The player character is equipped with a battle tool with which the player character can be equipped among the one or more battle tool thus displayed.

  • Patent number: 7844377
Abstract: Current position of a vehicle and current time are acquired. A user recognizing unit recognizes a user. A pattern recognizing unit detects location of a portable device and movement thereof. Operation state of an engine is acquired from an engine control mechanism. Based on the information, processes are performed such as switching communication stand-by mode of the portable device to active stand-by mode, notifying the portable device of a transition of an on-board terminal to automatic locking mode, preventing needless unlocking and locking of doors, and setting warning mode of the portable device.

  • Publication number: 20090305758
Abstract: The present invention provides a video game in which a player can feel an amusement by switching a player character to be an operation object in a battle with an enemy character even in a game performed after the battle is completed. The player can switch the operation object, which is usually the normal character, to a non-player character that can be the temporary character in the battle by switching operation. With such switching operation, the player performs the battle with the enemy character using the temporary character as the operation object. If a predetermined time elapses, the operation object is switched back to a normal character. At this time, an HP of the temporary character that is used as the operation object reflects on an HP of the normal character. If a special ability of the temporary character that is used as the operation object is used, the special ability is inherited by the normal character and can be used in battles thereafter.

  • Publication number: 20090156051
Abstract: A circuit for detection of an HDMI source device to an HDMI sink device through an HDMI sink connector without regard for the activity state of the HDMI source device has a pull-up resistor having first and second terminals with the first terminal coupled to a DC power source. A switching device is coupled between the pull-up resistor's second terminal and ground at a circuit node. The switching device is switched on to couple the circuit node to ground when power is applied to a control terminal thereof from the HDMI sink connector power pin, and being switched off otherwise. The circuit node is coupled to a DDC/CEC GROUND pin of the HDMI sink connector. The circuit node is readable as a binary signal to indicate the presence of a source device to the HDMI sink connector, wherein the node exhibits a logic low signal when either the node is grounded by the DDC/CEC GROUND pin connection to a source device or when the switching device is switched on.

  • Publication number: 20090055046
Abstract: A situation determining unit determines a situation a vehicle currently faces. A control processing unit controls a vehicle equipment based on a determination of the situation determining unit. An arbitration processing unit determines, when a conflict of control requests occurs, contents of the control by settling the conflict, and when different control requests are issued to an identical vehicle equipment, sets a priority in the control requests, adjusts a timing of performing the control, and adjusts an amount for the control. The control processing unit performs the control based on the contents of the control determined by the arbitration processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20080254849
Abstract: To reflect a player's degree of skill in a battle between a player character and an enemy character, and increase a strategic element. In the event that a player selects magic as an action of a player character in a battle between a player character and an enemy character, a puzzle battle is started. In the puzzle battle, a magic army (a block frame) is displayed on a display device in accordance with a kind of magic selected, the player moves or rotates a block falling from above the display device by operating an input device, stops it in a desired position, and fills the magic army. In the event that all squares of the magic army are filled with the blocks before a time elapsing from a start of the puzzle battle, displayed on an elapsed time gauge, reaches a prescribed time, the magic selected by the player is unleashed, and inflicts damage on the enemy character. An effectiveness of the magic depends on an overlapping, and a protrusion from the magic army, of the blocks.

  • Publication number: 20080213231
Abstract: Techniques are provided which can isolate pluripotent stem cells at high purity capable of differentiation into at least a myocardial cell to regenerate the cardiac muscle. The pluripotent stem cells at high purity capable of differentiation into at least a myocardial cell to regenerate the cardiac muscle can be isolated through the following steps: (i) collecting a skeletal muscle tissue from a mammal and enzymatically treating the obtained skeletal muscle tissue to prepare a skeletal muscle tissue-derived cell; (ii) culturing the obtained skeletal muscle tissue-derived cell in a culture medium containing an epidermal growth factor and a fibroblast growth factor; (iii) selecting and separating a colony that is floating in the culture medium.

  • Patent number: 7254622
Abstract: A video-on-demand system provides efficient commercial distribution for renting and/or selling movies, video programs, video games and electronic data. Data input stations upload original video data from videotapes, videocassettes, videodisks or film, or from electronic data format on transferable storage media or over a telecommunications line. A video data capture computer converts the original video data into a preferred video data storage format and stores the video data files in a first generation video data storage unit. The video data files are sorted by categories and classified in indexed master files stored on a second generation video data storage unit. NTSC, PAL and/or HDTV versions of the video data files are created and stored in separate data storage units for serving different markets. Customers access the system through computer servers connected to the Internet.

  • Patent number: 6515716
Abstract: An image display device capable of reducing power consumption with improved effectiveness even when a sync signal sensor fails to sense both horizontal and vertical sync signals, wherein when a first sync signal sensor fails to sense both horizontal and vertical sync signals, a main power source, a heater power source device, and a first sync signal sensor power source device are turned off. Power is thus saved. When a second sync signal sensor senses at least one of the horizontal and vertical sync signals, the first sync signal sensor power source device that was turned off is turned on.

  • Patent number: 5654600
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor, and more particularly to a motor having means for detecting an index position. A rotor yoke of the motor is provided with a recess having a width greater than the width of each pole of a rotating magnet. Substantially the whole of one pole of the rotating magnet and a part of another pole adjacent to the one pole on the downstream side in terms of rotation of a rotor are exposed to the recess. The magnetic flux from the magnet exposed to the recess is detected by a Hall element disposed in opposition to the outer circumference of the rotor, thereby specifying the index position.

  • Patent number: 5216341
Abstract: A windshield wiper control apparatus compensates for small-diameter raindrops such as a drizzle and raindrops splashed over by a preceding vehicle which may worsen the visibility of a driver even though the level of precipitation is not much and accumulatively calculates the amount of raindrops just after the wiping action of a wiper blade, thereby causing an optimized automatic wiping action to be realized. In addition, a windshield wiper control apparatus effects an automatic wiper operation without modifications and additional use of new operating switches by only adding a new control device between the conventional windshield apparatus not having any automatic wiper operation and the wiper blade driver.
