Abstract: A method of manufacturing a handle for a personal grooming device includes forming a substrate portion of a first material. The substrate portion has first and second walls forming a channel extending along a long axis of the substrate portion. An insert member is formed separate from the substrate portion and disposed within the channel. A grip portion of a second material is formed on the substrate portion. The second material substantially encases the insert member.

Abstract: A safety razor is provided having a handle, a cartridge mounted to the handle and a pair of primary guards joined to the cartridge, each of the primary guards having a plurality of fins that define a plurality of fin slots. The safety razor also includes one or more primary shaving blades mounted to the cartridge and positioned adjacent the pair of primary guards. A shaving aid retention guard is positioned between the pair of primary guards. The shaving aid retention guard has a plurality of walls defining a plurality of guard slots, wherein a width of the guard slots is greater than the width of the fin slots.

Abstract: The invention discloses a novel geometry for a lubricating body, strip or cap, composed of shaving aids, taking into consideration their shape, materials and placement along with their interaction with multiple blades for improved shaving attributes in a wet shaving system. A strip exposure and a strip angle are disclosed where generally a maximum height of the lubricating body in a dry state is greater than or equal to the maximum height of the blade plane and thus, the skin contacting surface of the lubricating body is generally above the skin contacting surface of the blades.

Abstract: Cutting members for razors are provided that have a blade portion and a base portion, the blade portion having a cutting edge region terminated at a free end thereof and an opposing non-cutting edge region, the blade portion being bent relative to the base portion in a bent portion spaced from the cutting edge region and adjacent to the non-cutting edge region, wherein the bent portion extends about 108 degrees to about 115 degrees from the base portion, the bent portion having a radius of about 0.30 mm to about 0.45 mm, at least part of the cutting member having a hardness of about hardness of about 540 HV to about 750 HV, and a thickness of the bent portion is less than the average thickness of the cutting member.

Abstract: The invention features method for making a replaceable razor cartridge for dispensing fluid. The method includes providing a cartridge housing having a guard, a lubricating member, and one or more blades. The cartridge housing has a top portion, a bottom portion, a front surface, a rear surface, and an aperture extending from the rear surface to the front surface. The method also includes integrally molding a cartridge connector and a fluid dispensing member. The cartridge connector has a pair of extending arms. The fluid dispensing member has a dispensing channel with an opening at a supply end and at least two openings at a dispensing end. The dispensing end projects outwardly to or adjacent to the aperture in the cartridge housing and the cartridge connecting structure is configured to releasably engage a handle.
