Abstract: In a distributed computing environment comprising a frontend system with a search platform having a cache of pre-computed search results and a backend system with one or more data-bases and a validation instance, a request is received at the search platform from a client comprising one or more first key-values indicating a first data record and at least a first pre-computed search result and a second pre-computed search result for the first data record is retrieved from the cache. The validation instance evaluates a current validity of the first pre-computed search result and the second pre-computed search result retrieved from the cache and returns the first pre-computed search result to the client device, or in response to evaluating that the first pre-computed search result is invalid and the second pre-computed search result is valid, returns the second pre-computed search result to the client.

Abstract: A method and system for making roundtrip air flight reservations includes an end-user receiving a response having departure dates with a lowest cost outbound fare for each date and return dates with a lowest cost inbound fare for each date, outbound flight and inbound flight segments each priced with One Way Combinable fares, the One Way Combinable fares can be priced independently of all other One Way Combinable fares (i.e. restriction on covered segment, fare amount can be doubled to price the Round Trip) and can be combined together with any other One Way Combinable fare (i.e. no combinability restriction) in order to form a guaranteed pricing solution regarding IATA regulation both in domestic and international contexts for complex segments (i.e. based on non-direct flights).

Abstract: A computer travel reservation system includes at least one data processor connected with at least one memory that stores software executable by the at least one data processor. Also included is a fare family database connected with the at least one data processor that stores data defining a plurality of fare families each including a plurality of fare classes. The fare family database also stores data defining determination rules used to determine an association of at least one fare family for each fare class, each fare class being defined according to at least commercial parameters. The system further includes a fare fixing engine implemented by the at least one data processor and software. The fare fixing engine is configured to apply the determination rules to a travel product to determine a fare family associated with the travel product.

Abstract: A method of building actual travel fares in a computer, from fare databases, is disclosed. A graph of nodes representing travel destinations is built which comprises edges connecting pairs of nodes. Each edge references a lowest travel fare. Also, a tree of fares is built for each graph edge. Trees comprise at least a root node holding the lowest travel fare of the corresponding graph edge. They possibly include more nodes comprising a context key and an associated travel fare. Trees are organized to have children nodes holding a travel fare equal to or larger than travel fare of a parent node. Thus, less expensive fare paths can efficiently be extracted since graph edges, included in the fare paths, reference the associated trees of fares and are gone through in ascending order of their lowest fare values. A learning entity is used to build and update the trees of fares.
