  • Patent number: 9489551
Abstract: A method is provided for reading data relating to a tire, in which the data is stored in an electronic device integrated into the tire, and in which the tire is identified by a serial number and a manufacturing week number. A storage unit of the electronic device includes a data storage zone having a storage range formed of a number of bits. The storage range is also referred to as a restricted range, and the number of bits of the restricted range is less than or equal to 38. According to the method, the data stored in the restricted range is read, and the data read from the restricted range is decoded in order to determine the serial number and the manufacturing week number of the tire.

  • Publication number: 20140367026
Abstract: A kit, which is usable for temporary attachment of an electronic device to a support of a tyre casing, includes: an attachment member and a separation element. The attachment member includes an adhesive mass for attaching the electronic device to the support. The separation element, which separates the adhesive mass from the support, is able to adhere to the adhesive mass. An adhesion between the adhesive mass and the separation element exceeds an adhesion between the adhesive mass and the support as a function of a variation of at least one parameter of the adhesive mass.

  • Patent number: 8638089
Abstract: A self-contained device intended to be carried by a wheel-tire assembly in order to locate whether the assembly is positioned on the right side or on the left side of a vehicle is described. The device includes two magnetic sensors with axes of maximum sensitivity, the sensors providing two periodic signals that are phase shifted relative to one another. Each signal is representative of variations in the magnitude of the magnetic field detected by the sensor during a revolution of the wheel-tire assembly. The device also includes a processing unit programmed to determine, from the phase shift between the two periodic signals, a direction in which the wheel-tire assembly is rotating and to deduce, from this direction of rotation and from a direction of travel of the vehicle, whether the wheel-tire assembly is located on the right side or on the left side. The two magnetic sensors are intended to be positioned on the wheel-tire assembly at distinct azimuthal locations.

  • Patent number: 8527134
Abstract: A method of identifying a position of a wheel of a vehicle includes: providing, in at least one wheel of the vehicle, a device with at least one magnetic sensor with a maximum sensitivity axis; starting up the vehicle; measuring at terminals of each magnetic sensor a signal representative of magnetic flux time variations during rotation of the wheel; determining a characteristic quantity of the signal; comparing the characteristic quantity to a given threshold; and determining, according to a comparison result, a front or rear location of the wheel.
