  • Patent number: 9342328
Abstract: Systems and methods for simulation within a cloud computing environment. According to one embodiment, the system or method comprises a cloud computing environment with infrastructure management software and a cloud-based managed infrastructure. An interface is identified within infrastructure management software by first identifying a dataflow from the infrastructure management software to the infrastructure, and then, based on the dataflow, identifying a component within the infrastructure management software that is interacting with the infrastructure. A simulation class is then implemented using the identified interface, where the simulation class populates the infrastructure management software with metadata from an infrastructure database such that the infrastructure is simulated.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: May 17, 2016
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation

  • Patent number: 6902630
Abstract: An apparatus and method for cleaning objects having generally irregular surface features, such as reloadable photographic cameras, has a partial enclosure having opposing side walls, and a top wall joining the opposing side walls. An air ionizing element composed of an ion emitter and an air knife is arranged in the enclosure for electrostatically neutralizing the object with ions entrained in a curtain-like stream of air directed onto the object.

  • Patent number: 6490746
Abstract: An apparatus and method for cleaning objects having generally irregular, undulating surface features, such as reloadable photographic cameras, has a partial enclosure having opposing side walls, and a top wall joining the opposing side walls. A pair of air ionizing members are arranged on the interior of the opposing side walls and a source of a curtain-like stream of air is arranged in the top wall.

  • Patent number: 5659349
Abstract: An imaging apparatus has a support shoe with an at-least-partially cylindrical inner surface for receiving a recording media, a rotor which is simultaneously rotatable about and linearly translated along a fixed axis, a write head assembly carried by the rotor to write on recording media received on the inner surface of the support shoe, a member having an arcuate outer periphery and supported within the support shoe for movement along the fixed axis, and electrically conductive bristles extending radially from the periphery of the member toward the received media to dissipate electrostatic charge build up on the media. The member is supported for movement with the rotor, and preferably leads the rotor as the rotor moves along the axis during a write operation. The bristles extend radially from the periphery of the member and are spaced from the received media to create an electrical stress in free air space.

  • Patent number: 5266267
Abstract: A method and apparatus for preventing spotting of the undersurface of the evaporation caps of an incubator in a clinical analyzer. It has been discovered that the surprising cause of the problem was electrostatic attraction building up on the caps, due to the use of plastic parts. The solution to that problem is the provision, in a plastic cover plate mounting the incubator housing on its drive spindle, with carbon fibers rather than glass fibers, in an amount sufficient to provide a volume resistivity throughout the plastic of between about 10.sup.5 and about 10.sup.9 ohm-cm, and grounding the housing through the spindle on which it is mounted.

  • Patent number: 4698391
Abstract: New crosslinked polymers are prepared from a combination of starting materials comprising a polymer, a crosslinking agent for the polymer, and a conductivity agent containing a quaternary ammonium moiety. The conductivity agent contains at least one functional group which, during an otherwise typical process of crosslinking the polymer through the crosslinking agent, reacts to bond the conductivity agent covalently and pendently to the crosslinking agent or the polymer. The resultant crosslinked polymer has lower electrical resistivity due to inclusion of the conductivity agent.
